They are only testing a very small, very sick, slice of patients presenting symptoms. The virus isn't being contained.

Remember the John's hopkins map a few weeks ago, after the virus was first tracked? China's map looked a lot like it does for the us today. We are about 8 weeks behind them.

One big difference is they took draconian measures to seal off wuhan, where the virus was most prevalent, as well as other hot spots as they presented themselves. Travel was impossible. Some people had the doors to their buildings welded shut.

We aren't even acknowledging the problem at the fed level. States are taking the brunt of testing and isolation. But travel continues normally.

This is very scary right now. In 8 weeks, this will be a much different country.

...the little people don't need to know f...em as they say in repuke land.

What country the person visited, and what institutions are related to a case, may affect a person's choice of activity, what hospital or health care institutions to go to in need etc.

You could walk right into the place where the problem is. I guess that's what they don't want. Patterns of commerce interrupted. But there is no avoiding it.

DeSantis is talking about containment. The Health Dept web site says they've only done 188 tests while monitoring 1010 people. The tests are still being treated as a scarce resource they can't afford to use liberally.

Which means the entire county's stress level is on the rise?

BTW, thank you for keeping us informed.

I'm okay so far - more worried about my dad, he is at Century Village and I am afraid if one senior gets it , it will become a nightmare.

Volusia County has its first presumed case of coronavirus, multiple sources confirmed Saturday night.

“I got a call from the governor’s office about 30 minutes ago,” Florida state Rep. David Santiago, R-Deltona, said at about 7:35 p.m.

“It’s a 60-year-old female who had recently traveled abroad,” Santiago said. “She’s in quarantine.
