Jeez, US COVID-19 cases jump over 38% today (+271)

Last edited Tue Mar 10, 2020, 08:13 PM - Edit history (2)

Now at 975. There were 4 deaths, up to 30 total.

Edit: I updated the numbers to the total for the day on the worldometer site which uses GMT as a reference point.

1. Might be due to testing kits being distbributed.

More testing = more known cases.

9. Isn't It Interesting That They Wait For Pence's Committee Report Press Conference To Be Held....

after the market closes as well. Do you think that that is intentional?

5. Don't worry they'll pull back on testing tomorrow and the rate will go down.

Not exactly sure why but I thought it was worth posting.

It's by far the worst day yet...

19. They have always been off slightly -

but usually pretty close.

For US data, I'm using this one: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/us/coronavirus-us-cases.html

8. In China, the # of cases increased 50% each day the last 2 weeks of January

Much less now with their lockdowns/quarantines. The US will have to do the same to achieve any semblance of control.

18. Remember -

We're just starting to test people - so much of the increase is due to testing people who should have been tested weeks ago.
