We are so F**KED.

Donnie stated the buck does not stop with him. Whined that it is not his fault. Lied when he said he/they acted quickly. They knew in January and did nothing. This is March and they just woke from their stupor. We still have no tests. We are a week or so away from Italy, today alone 250 more deaths. Doctors in Italy are make a choice of who lives or dies, they have no choice, they can't treat them all. The hospitals there are near collapse.

They have not addressed the long term lung damage for those that actually survive. I read your lungs look like crushed glass.

As I said, we are fucked. Don hid this in plain sight so he could win reelection.

I went to have blood work done today for my yearly exam. Half way there I got a message from my doctor. My appointment needed to be cancelled unless I had a critical health issue. They don't want the healthy in with the sick. I rerouted to the market because I just don't have much on hand. The market was mobbed, no parking or carts, I left. Went to the market down the street, same deal. Finally went to my in town market and was shocked. Shelves striped bare. No pasta. No sauce. No bread. No paper products cleaning products. Freeze section a graveyard.

Oh boy. Panic buying. As I said we are F**KED!

usually it's the water that's gone but there was plenty.

This is just a normal sized small town grocery store and there were people from two other counties there clearing the shelves.

Now I see I forgot a couple other things but I think I'll go tomorrow. We're on the edge of a big winter storm, it's payday for the folks on the two week pay schedule so they were all shopping, many with two carts each. The ladies in front of me at the checkout are from town and said they didn't recognized anyone in there. I saw two people that I recognized. It was my normal shopping hour when nobody is there and it was packed, almost couldn't find a place to park either.

Crazy.

Cheese? WTF? I made my usual Saturday morning AM run to Aldi and Publix. 7:30 AM, and Publix already had 3 times the normal shoppers. Couldn't get through half the aisles due to shelf stockers. Aldi was a zoo, too. Most weeks, I'm only one of a half dozen customer in the store--if that I go there for produce. I had to wait on them to re-stock most of it. Got the last dozen eggs. Crazy. I'm glad I started preparing back in January for this shit.

doctor check-ups this month and next. It's good to know that you were told to postpone... it tells me what I should do. Just the idea of being in an eye clinic with a bunch of other oldsters is making me queasy.

DH and I stocked up two weeks ago when this wasn't quite such a big deal. We still go to the grocery, but only for fresh produce and that sort of thing. Our stores here are beginning to be restocked. If you lived close, I would happily share with you... even the toilet paper!

There is no excuse for this testing debacle. As soon as it was obvious China was dealing with a serious problem, plans should have been made and set into motion to have testing centers ready. Then you have the GOP blocking the emergency paid leave bill. A lot more people are going to die because of their malice, incompetence, and doing what they thought was in their self-interest instead of what was in the best interest of the people.

He done himself in. Six Words.

Unfortunately, we are stuck with him until Jan 2021 unless he resigns sooner. His ego is so large he wouldn't contemplate resigning unless faced with a record-challenging defeat. Of that there can be no doubt.

Notice how often he flies on AF1? It’s almost every fucking day. Finding actual hours he flies is not easy, but I would bet that in the 3 years he has held the office, he has put more hours on Marine 1 and Air Force 1 than Obama did in his entire 8 years. If not, its fucking closing in fast.

A significant amount of the time he interacts with the press is when he stops to talk to the “gaggle” on his way walking to Marine One on the South Lawn.

HE. FUCKING. LOVES. BEING. PRESIDENT.

It is a role he is playing. A role in which he has found that he gets to write the script, do the editing and control the lighting and post production as much as he possibly can. It infuriates him when things spiral out of his control. According to numerous sources and books, he goes ballistic when he feels he is being made to look bad. His skin is thinner than the film between layers of an onion.

That’s why when things like this come along, he feels absolutely ZERO shame or problem with blaming someone else.

He is utterly incapable of taking or assuming blame for ANYTHING. It’s always someone else’s fault, NEVER HIS, and if you have the temerity to question him about it, you’re asking a “Nasty Question”.

Donald Trump is currently living out his ultimate dream; To be in charge and to do what he wants and get away with just about anything. He gets to fly anywhere he wants, on a whim, on the worlds ultimate private jet - a fucking fleet of them in fact, and while doing so, he has a shitload of people who are required to address him with more dignity and respect than he has ever been able to command in his private life. He absolutely ADORES the fact that people call him “Sir” as a default, thinking he somehow deserves it, instead of it simply being the trappings of the Presidency.

If he gets re-elected, and that is a DISTINCT possibility, this country is fucking doomed, plain and simple. We will devolve into a conservative Utopia, which means basically FUCK YOU to anyone not making a quarter million a year or more, screw your healthcare, your vagina is a factory and you had better learn to live with it, you will worship the approved god and if you talk back to anyone with a gun and a badge, you get what’s coming to you, so help me god bless ‘Merica

If he is defeated in November, it will take this country decades to undo the damage he and McConnell have done.

Decades. If we survive it, that is.

But tried to keep in mind being able to make meals over the next several weeks. Not because I think SO and I will be quarantined, but because I feared nothing would be on the shelves.

What I found was so similar to pre-hurricane buying - people buying cases of water, for example. Almost no TP on the shelves and I was glad I got disinfectant wipes last week. Lots of bleach and the store was stocking in every aisle.

People go a bit crazy at times like this. I've lived through several hurricane and tropical storm warnings and I still can't believe the crap people buy then.

Unfortunately, these sample links are from Amazon. You can also get them at good health food stores, other online shops and Sprouts Farmer's Market:

Nature's Answer Elecampane -- 30 drops in 8 oz water 3x a day. If really sick, double the dose.

https://www.amazon.com/Natures-Answer-Elecampane-Organic-Alcohol/dp/B0001TS336/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3JLHUWJIQSS5U&dchild=1&keywords=natures+answer+elecampane&qid=1584145257&sprefix=natures+answer+ele%2Caps%2C143&sr=8-4

Herb's Etc. Lung Tonic -- One gel cap 3 times a day. If sick double the dose.

There are 60 cap & 120 cap bottles. The 120 cap bottle are a bit cheaper per cap.

https://www.amazon.com/HERBS-ETC-Lung-Tonic-Count/dp/B001ED1I7G/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=lung+tonic&qid=1584145419&sr=8-4

Guaifenesin 400mg -- You can safely take 1200mg per dose. 400mg will be in a good DM cough syrup.

https://www.amazon.com/Kirkland-Signature-Expectorant-Guaifenesin-Immediate-Release/dp/B002RL8FIE/ref=sr_1_7?crid=1NTIFL5FMFN5A&dchild=1&keywords=guaifenesin+400mg&qid=1584145516&sprefix=guai%2Caps%2C147&sr=8-7

Vicks Personal Steam Inhaler with menthol discs.

https://www.amazon.com/Vicks-Personal-V1200-Targeted-Congestion/dp/B0000TN7MY/ref=sr_1_8?crid=F592TS4NYMAP&dchild=1&keywords=vicks+vapor+inhaler&qid=1584145609&sprefix=vicks+vapor+in%2Caps%2C134&sr=8-8

When you feel congestion, start taking the Lung Tonic. 1 cap 3xday. If it starts to get worse, 2 3xday and introduce the elecampane drops. Take a good DM cough syrup and take 400mg guaifenesin along with it. If you wait too long, and it starts to fester, use the Vicks steamer twice a day, and do a double session with the same disc. Also, tap on your lower chest to loosen the mucus in the lower part of the lungs.

This is key, the cough syrup and guaifenesin generally are taken every 4 hours. You must never miss a dose, even if that means setting your alarm for 2AM. If you wait 8 hours, any chest infection will start to re-seat and fester again. Hit the chest congestion and hit it hard.

Eat spicy foods to keep your mucous fluid. When breathing or coughing, make sure you do a slow 5 second in and 5 second out, but try to make sure your exhales are more forceful, to keep the flow out of your lungs.

Amazon just sold out. I checked a few online stores and I found the 120 cap bottle here for under $40. I bought 2 from them. I have 3 shipping from another company to fill the house inventory, to protect my family of 5 and for the siblings (I bought their remaining inventory). I gave 1 bottle I had on hand to my next door neighbor who has COPD and who are in their 70s.

https://www.nutritionjungle.com/herbs-etc-lung-tonic-120-softgels.aspx

I've had bronchitis for a couple of decades, and since following these procedures, I haven't needed to see a doctor 3 times a year and miss a couple weeks of work every year. It got to the point where my boss knew I would call out a few times a year. Now I don't. My kids would get sick and would go back to work after a day of recuperating. People doubt the efficacy of this stuff, until they try it.

Between 160 million and 214 million people in the U.S. could be infected over the course of the epidemic, according to one projection. That could last months or even over a year, with infections concentrated in shorter periods, staggered across time in different communities, experts said. As many as 200,000 to 1.7 million people could die.

She said all the meat shelves (beef, poultry, pork, lamb, veal) were completely empty and the only thing left was some $17/lb snapper in the fish section. Even the "buy 1 get 2 free" baby back ribs were gone. There were no carts (all in-use).

Luckily I bought a small deep freezer a couple years ago and it is stocked (grew up with a big Kenmore deep freezer as a kid when my dad used to buy like 1/2 a steer or something and would store the cuts in the freezer along with some ice cream sandwiches )

in the gloom of my worry of being exposed. So, I'm getting my son to do the running and then I take charge of wiping down what he brings home. I've told him: if you bring that shit in this house, I'm probably a dead man. That got his attention.

Anyhow.....
* I believe the stores should settle down soon after people get stocked up and the supply chains adjust. Remember, the average product demand has not changed except perhaps for cleaning products. This is mainly hoarding.

* I'm hoping crucial services will start making provisions for isolating the sick from those that appear to be well. Perhaps doctor's offices for example, could install some temporary barriers or just sectionalize their office spaces.

* My son and I do our shopping very late at night (1 to 3am) and it's much better. Also, there's plenty of store employees around to help find stuff because they stock the store that time of night.

* Someone mentioned going temporarily to a high-end grocery just for basics because those are typically not so crowded and are kept well stocked. Might be worth the few extra bucks just for the reduced exposure.

Hang in there and be safe - we'll make it.......
