Mrs. Betty Bowers nicely sums up Trump's National Day of Coronavirus Prayer stunt.

Mrs. Betty Bowers
@BettyBowers

On this #NationalDayOfPrayer, pray that next time a pandemic strikes, we have a president who is actually competent, and addresses national health emergencies with facts, honesty, and science, not patronizing gimmicks like a "National Day of Prayer."

He doesn’t know the national anthem (let alone the constitution). I guarantee he doesn’t know any canned prayers. And can you imagine him trying to ad lib a sincere prayer?

he SHOULD be the one to lead us in national prayer.

That way everyone can watch him read the teleprompter for his divine communication with the HIGH AND MIGHTY bigoted and racist God.

Then we can all make bets on whether Bannon or Miller actually wrote the "divine" communication.

Or, if he tried to compose it himself, he could just pass it off as "speaking in tongues".

It is in the tRump DNA passed on from great grandpa, the brothel owner. Only women who have to be paid to keep them company are allowed in tRump circles. It limits the number of rejections they get. Pay up, and all is A-O-K

due to his lack of leadership in the Coronavirus pandemic. This is a cheap ploy to keep them, and nothing else.

All those calling out for "karma" don't get it. Karma is a process of generations, hanging on from one lifetime to the next. He and his family might come back as cockroaches, or something, but in this lifetime they might continue to prosper and cause misery to to others until stopped by human agency.

What you really want is something more immediate, like the Greek Furies. Once the gods had condemned someone for the sin of hubris, the Furies would pursue that person to the ends of the Earth, tormenting them and and blighting their lives. Oedipus, you may recall, ended up putting out his own eyes.

Flying-in from international destinations. Caught in long lines that boggle the mind.* They are going through an ordeal that was foreseeable, yet, unplanned for by the pResident’s federal ‘response.’

I’m, I guess, praying that the forces in the universe somehow seemingly send all their powers of kharma, dharma, pillars, epiphanies, Christ as Savior Holy Justice, etc. through whatever particles and qwerks of quarks in a probabilistically-screwed thus far reality whereby a chronic tabloid cover personality is using his followers’ faith(s) to cover up his governing inadequacies. He has put innocent people in harm’s way, and I pray that he, or at least the people around him, see the errors of hastily trying to save face when they could be saving lives.

I pray, in this way, that the governor of my state chooses to start leading in this crisis rather than follow the charlatan that is tRump. That while he waited 15 hours - til after church hours today - to recognize the viral train wreck unfolding at the international airports as having occurred due to the woefully poor management of the executive branch’s decision to block travel without care for its implications.** I pray that he sees the wave of cases that will hit his state (Texas) in the coming days could have been prevented with better planning and coordination from the federal government. I pray that he not blame the airport workers who were hit with this manmade disaster as they fall ill from being exposed to so many travelers. I pray that he recognizes that thinking and planning are not mutually exclusive to living a life of faith as an individual who wields power based upon the public’s trust.

I pray as an atheist like myself does - for the best possible outcomes for terrible situations. I believe in the goodness of human beings to learn and improve how they deal with problems. I pray when I feel gratitude for all those experts, scientists, and healthcare workers doing their selfless best to overcome the spread of this virus despite the political powers that dismiss their informed advice and leadership. I pray that nonbelievers and believers alike will work together to protect those they will never meet face-to-face as we recognize each other’s humanity as store shelves sit bare. Humans adapt and I remain hopeful as I pray for the best in dire situations.

Because of her and people like her, people like me are alive. Is a funny thing to know you wouldn’t exist if not for a medically necessary abortion back in your lineage at a time when life began at birth according to most people, including the town‘s doctor.

That women’s rights are human rights in a world of lopsided wealth where banning abortion and contraception does not reduce abortion rates.* I pray that RBG stays well when I feel that deep well of gratitude for her efforts.
