Saw this link about CV19 from a respected herbalist I follow that has very interesting ideas
Very compelling....

That echinacea is somewhat regulating when it comes to the cytokines storm that comes in end stage and how Vitamin D can protect you by bolstering your immune system.

1. Vitamin D boosts the immune system
I've been taking it for years due to a deficiency.
Vitamin D3 specifically -- 50 mcg. It is inexpensive and you can buy it at the grocery store. Good idea to look to nature for nature is what has thwarted this upon us. Thanks for the ideas, I for one appreciate them. ![]() |

11. Vitamin A, D, E, and K should not be taken like other vitamins.
They are stored in the liver and other tissues. Not good to have too much of them.
Vitamin C and the B complex vitamins are pissed away when there’s too much, but never good to overload on any vitamin. This is the DU member formerly known as cwydro.

6. I have seen several studies about Eucalyptus & thyme helping suppress viral loads greatly.
And you know what has that in it? Original Listerine. I’m using it as gargle once daily. Don’t forget to add a slice of Lemon in your hot tea! Also very anti viral. |

7. This is pure bullshit.
From the original web site of this "herbalist" group:
"Vitalism in healing is a clinical strategy based on the principle that Life, Nature, and the Great Spirit from which they arise are fully present in all the tissues of the body, and also in the psyche, the spiritual heart, and the soul, sustaining life and health, providing inspiration and momentum for personal evolution on all levels, and for the fulfillment of the highest purpose in social and spiritual life." |

9. Because aspirin was given proper scientific tests.
Whenever herbalism or homeopathy or other forms of woo are properly scientifically tested, they fail.
EVERY time. The National Enquirer has as their headline today, "Coronavirus Cure!" Should we believe them, too? This is why the medical establishment is saying it's going to be months, maybe a year to a year and a half before a vaccine is judged to be safe and effective. Because they use SCIENCE. Not hucksterism, woo and lies. |

17. Wrong, wrong and wrong!
There have been decades of research on the efficacy of herbs, mostly Big Parma trying to dispute the facts. I could post reams of research already done. If You wanna believe Big Pharma then be my guest. They have lied about anything and everything they can’t produce in a lab. The anti viral effects of Eucalyptus and Thyme have been around a hundred years or more. Echinacea, too. Research is now showing that even the young people who have succumbed to this had low loads of Calcium in their system. |

14. Low d3 levels is well established.
Vitamin D deficiency is very common. It's estimated that about 1 billion people worldwide have low levels of the vitamin in their blood (2Trusted Source).
According to a 2011 study, 41.6% of adults in the US are deficient. This number goes up to 69.2% in Hispanics and 82.1% in African-Americans (3Trusted Source). https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/vitamin-d-deficiency-symptoms Into the Eye of the Cytokine Storm https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3294426/ |

20. Here you go - If you don't believe me
Just one of hundreds of articles...
[link:https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/31195112| The published literature indicates that essential oils possess a wide-spectrum of antibacterial, antifungal and even anti-viral activity. Essential oils have also been shown to inhibit the growth of drug-resistant microbial strains which are even difficult to be treated by conventional antibiotics. As for as their mode of action is concerned, in fungal pathogens, essential oils establish a membrane potential across cell wall and disrupt ATP assembly, leading to cell wall damage. Essential oils can also disintegrate mitochondrial membrane interfering with the electron transport system (ETS) pathway. In bacterial pathogens, essential oils primarily destabilize the cellular architecture, leading to breakdown of membrane integrity, disrupting many cellular activities including energy production and membrane transport. Membrane rupture induced by essential oils can lead to leakage of cellular components and loss of ions. Several essential oils have antiviral activities against many RNA and DNA viruses, such as type 1 and type 2 herpes simplex virus (HSV-1 and HSV-2), dengue virus type 2, influenza virusadeno virus type 3, poliovirus, Junin virus, and coxsackievirus B1. In conclusion, the current review article discusses in detail the various aspects of antimicrobial activity of essential oils in a comprehensive manner. This on Tea Tree oil ....These experiments revealed that viral replication was significantly inhibited if TTO was added within 2h of infection, indicating an interference with an early step of the viral replicative cycle of influenza virus. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21095205?utm_source=Ananda+Apothecary&utm_campaign=2c175780e7-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_04_06_30&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_b61590e387-2c175780e7-260704481&mc_cid=2c175780e7&mc_eid=93de39f8c3 |

25. You stopped too soon....
It says that Tea tree oil in particular DOES work if the timing is right. Other studies prove it, too. Other studies prove that this and other oils are very beneficial in killing the H1N1 bug. (In particular Thyme and Eucalyptus like I was saying in the original post!!) A reminder that there are NO antibiotics that can kill H1N1. Treatment is for the flu is symptomatic treatment, my point was that the cytokines waterfall effect take over and kill these patients very quickly. Many of these essential oils have the same chemical properties that Pharma uses to produce more meds. Example; Tamoxifen came from the bark of a tree. There is lots of science that is happening right now and I find it fascinating. And are you implying that a chemistry Dept in India is not good enough for you? What was your point there? It sounds pretty funny if you think that only ‘Merican labs are any good. There are lots of studies going on all over the world. Have been for decades. The Chinese have studied herbalism for centuries. As well as India, where Ayurvedic medicine and health practices helped modern Pharma develop many drugs today. So don’t turn your nose up to something you aren’t buying. Or did you come by just to crap on something you can’t believe because you don’t understand it? Many of modern medicines come people who didn’t have modern meds available to them. People had to use their natural resources to figure it all out. Yet even with all the research they can’t figure out how to kill the flu. |

34. Just got this in my "Quackwatch" e-mail...
But, I guess since a couple doctors in India (who have yet to be backed up by other doctors) and a group of "herbalists" say so, none of this is true, right?
Marketers warned about coronavirus claims The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have sent warning letters to seven companies allegedly selling unapproved products that may violate federal law by making deceptive or scientifically unsupported claims about their ability to treat coronavirus (COVID-19): (a) Vital Silver, (b) Quinessence Aromatherapy Ltd., (c) N-ergetics, (d) GuruNanda, LLC, (e) Vivify Holistic Clinic, (f) Herbal Amy LLC, and (g) The Jim Bakker Show.
