The local water district is doing spring maintenance on the water system. They use more chlorine at that time. That's what the local news cast reported at the first of March.

4. It seems like the water here "turns over" and they use more chlorine.

I guess the temperatures changes with spring coming causes it.

5. My town's water always had a strong smell of chlorine, going back to the '70s.

That's why I won't drink our city tap water. There is so much chlorine it burns my eyes in the shower.

11. If your city's water department's routine tests show high bacteria count.....

they may temporarily jack up the chlorine injection levels. Can happen anywhere, but particularly when temperatures are higher than expected.

Probably not due to coronavirus because I don't believe viruses can survive the journey to water treatment, then the entire treatment process and miles of journey through pipes in water to our homes. They simply don't survive without a host for very long.....thank goodness.
