A political strategist is thought to be on the lam after she failed to show up for an interview with prosecutors about a campaign scandal involving Rep. David Rivera (R-FL).

Authorities last week raided Ana Alliegro’s apartment and seized her computer and cell phone. She was scheduled to speak to prosecutors on Thursday, but now not even her lawyer knows where she is, according to The Miami Herald.

Prosecutors believe that Alliegro may be involved in shadow campaign, in which Justin Lamar Sternad ran as a Democrat “ringer” in the 26th District primary in order to help defeat fellow Democrat Joe Garcia. Authorities are probing Rivera, the Republican incumbent, to find out if he was behind the scheme as effort to weaken or defeat Garcia before they faced off in the general election.

Let Alliegro be alive and well ... and have audio/video tapes of the meeting where she received her marching orders from rove, ailes, koch and various alec operatives.

from the article

Rivera, a friend and former roommate of Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), had faced accusations of domestic violence during his 2010 campaign for Congress. Rivera had also been accused in 2002 of using his car to hit a Liberty Mailing Services truck and force it off the road as it was carrying flyers that read, “Reject Domestic Violence — Reject David Rivera.”

Something smells fishy. Hopefully she'll show up somewhere stil alive.

Senate candidate Marco Rubio in foreclosure tangle over Tallahassee property

By John Frank, Times/Herald Tallahassee Bureau
In Print: Saturday, June 19, 2010

TALLAHASSEE — Republican U.S. Senate candidate Marco Rubio is again answering questions about troubles with his personal finances after a bank sought to foreclose on a Tallahassee home he owns with another Miami lawmaker.

Rubio and David Rivera, the House budget chairman who is running for Congress in Miami, failed to make payments for five months, prompting Deutsche Bank to seek full payment and fees totalling $136,000 in a civil lawsuit filed Monday.

A spokesman for Rubio's campaign said "a clarification was needed on the amount owed, which has been resolved." Rivera hand-delivered a $9,525 cashier's check Thursday to the mortgage company's lawyers to cover missed payments and fees.

Leon County court records don't yet indicate the payment was made and the case remains open. Rubio spokesman Alex Burgos provided a letter acknowledging the payment, which was made a day after the homeowners were told of the foreclosure filing.

Was Rubio and his whole family living at this residence???

That's quite a lot of money they owed before the bank took action!

When they were both in the Florida Legislature. It was probably also intended to be an investment, but they were not very good at handling their money if that was the intention!

While looking for the article on the foreclosure, I found this:

Could David Rivera cost Marco Rubio the vice presidency?

Rivera is the very controversial Florida U.S. House member who remains under FBI and IRS investigation for a series of campaign finance irregularities that led Miami-Dade prosecutors to conclude recently that the Sunshine State Republican “essentially live[d] off” donations from campaign contributors for the better part of a decade. (Those prosecutors did not bring criminal charges against Rivera — though it’s worth reading the full 16-page memo on their findings here.)

“I think until David is federally cleared on any wrongdoing, it is damn near a [disqualifier]...we continually hear that though the state authorities took a pass, they did so knowing others would not,” said one senior Republican operative in Florida. “Marco is his friend, and he is loyal, but it comes to a point when stakes are so high and margins so close that it would be the difference between being invited to the ticket or not.”

On Monday, Rubio was asked about Rivera by Fox News Channel’s Bret Baier and here’s what he said:
“He’s a friend. I mean, he’s a friend I’ve known on a personal level even before I was elected or he was elected to office. So look, I know he’s going through a tough time. And we’ve all read the press reports and none of us like to see that about anybody, much less a friend. And he’s going to have to deal with those issues.”

There is more about the foreclosure in this article, written after the matter was settled. Rubio would have been another train wreck for Rmoney!

Campaign sources and finance records indicated that Rivera may have funneled $46,000 in secret money to Sternad’s campaign — often in cash-filled envelopes. Both Rivera and Sternad have denied working together.

Rivera "What, what I haven't done nothin' wrong! I'm innocent. It's ALL the democrats fault. They are out to get me, I's tells ya!"

These guys KNOW how to get away with ALL kinds of criminal activities.
