At the beginning of the outbreak, Canada also sent 20 tonnes of supplies to China. I'm pretty sure Putin had nothing to do with that decision.

Now China is returning the favour and sending supplies our way.

Criminal in intent no matter how you slice it. If the quantities being shipped out were being doubled up on with replacement orders in anticipation of our own potential pandemic, that would be one thing. But shipping them out and not replacing them just in case and/or profiting off of it, would be criminal.

We are dealing with a monster.

And lets be clear, that monster isn't a both sides do it. This is a REPUBLICAN MONSTER. One we all feared, that when the chips were down, would rear its ugly head.

Ah, is it just me? The orange dictator is ABOVE the law, now. With the DOJ in his pocket, at least federally, he IS the law. I think he knows that.

I am only saying that due to the sequence of events that lead to now. We see no taxes, he was not removed from office, etc., etc.

So, El Presidente is a de facto dictator and the title of President does nothing but legitimize his actions.

gave him carte blanche to operate as usual. Extortion and bribery for supplies. China must have compensated him handsomely.

6. Can you find a specific citation that says the medical supplies came from the US government?

My understanding was that $$ came from the US government, but that the supplies were donated by private industries - with the delivery facilitated by the state department.

This week the State Department has facilitated the transportation of nearly 17.8 tons of donated medical supplies to the Chinese people, including masks, gowns, gauze, respirators, and other vital materials. These donations are a testament to the generosity of the American people.

Today, the United States government is announcing it is prepared to spend up to $100 million in existing funds to assist China and other impacted countries, both directly and through multilateral organizations, to contain and combat the novel coronavirus. This commitment – along with the hundreds of millions generously donated by the American private sector – demonstrates strong U.S. leadership in response to the outbreak.

While donation by our private industry companies may also have been shortsighted, if that is where the donations came from it is hardly fair to blame Trump for it.

(And - think of how you would have reacted during the Wuhan outbreak of Obama had presided over sending humanitarian relief to China - or any other country.)

I hate Trump as much as the next person - BUT - it is important for our expression of that hate to be fact-based and similar to how we would have reacted had the same action been taken by a president we like.

Key words: "facilitated the transportation" and "donated medical supplies"

U.S. Private Sector Backing China’s Coronavirus Fight
FEBRUARY 6, 2020

With the backing of many U.S. private sector companies and foundations, Direct Relief today sent a major shipment of personal protective gear to Chinese hospitals at the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak, including 250,000 N95 masks and other requested items.

Since Jan. 27, Direct Relief has sent to hospitals in China a total of 572,000 N95 and surgical masks.

The recipients in China include the largest hospitals in the three cities with the highest reported incidence of coronavirus—Wuhan, Xiaogan and Huanggang. The three cities are all located in Hubei Province, where more than 19,000 cases of novel coronavirus have been reported. Items in Thursday’s shipments will also be directed to local agencies in neighboring Chongqing.

A number of prominent U.S. private sector companies and foundations are channeling their China assistance through Direct Relief. The HP Foundation on Monday donated $1 million to the effort, with other large cash donations coming from Pfizer, Eli Lilly, and Grandstream Networks. 3M and Amazon have donated large quantities of personal protective gear.

Here's a picture of the gear in question:

The latest shipment of personal protective equipment, including surgical masks and N95 respirator masks, departs Direct Relief's warehouse Thursday, bound for medical facilities in China.

--------------

Those were supplies donated by a range of private donors.

The only thing the State Dept. did was "facilitate the transport" - i.e. cutting red tape involved in exporting goods to China, with whom we have a trade war.

9. Trump conned us! LOCK HIM UP!
Sun Mar 29, 2020, 05:13 PM
Mar 2020

All the while he was busy booking serial TV photo ops, doing his standup act at rallys, and screeching phone interviews on rightwing media about the corona virus being a hoax and claiming Dems were exaggerating the danger, he was raiding the national stockpiles and shipping our emergency supplies (paid for by taxpayers) intended to help Americans in times of crisis, to his BFF in China.

Then he lied about it. He delayed handing out desperately been supplies to hospitals because he gave a lot of it away. He was trying to replace what he stole by outbidding states frantically trying to buy equipment on the open market.

Trump sold us out. He put China first, not America, not the sick and dying, and hundreds of people are dying.

LOCK HIM UP!
