I'm having a hard time being nice about the virus to everyone. The wife says "karma" and we have

to wish good for all,
but then I see that megachurch filled with virus deniers packing the place.
Karma
Then I see Republicans not shutting down their county/state/etc
Karma
Then I hear the bile of lies coming out of Trump's mouth:
Calling it a hoax
lying to Hannity,
attacking honest reporters,
misleading all Americans,
because all he cares about is his re-election and not American lives
Karma
It's hard not to wish this virus on people like them.
Karma
It's really really really fucking hard not to.
Karma
But I'm not.
Karma
Because it's such a horrible disease
and if Republicans get sick they can pass it on to innocents and bystanders and keep the pandemic going.
Because a virus doesn't have political parties.
Karma baby, Karma.
I'll keep trying

Things are already heating up and we are in ventura county, where it has been slow to grow because we adopted Stay at Home early but it's still exploding faster than the doc's at the local hospitals expected.
Plus several surgeons at the hospital and other providers have been diagnosed positive already
I worry about her catching it and also bringing it home to my 86 year old mother who lives with us now (thank goodness we moved her in here 6 weeks ago before this exploded)
It's just worrying about them that is super stressful right now.
Then seeing these deniers and idiots gathering in large crowds just infuriates me.
They will extend the spread and the danger to the ones I love.
But Karma baby, Karma.

3. Please don't confuse stupid with evil.

I have no idea what motivates Trump. But I doubt if it’s anything good.

But now let’s consider Trump supporters in general, and those megachurch people in particular. Those people are very confused. They are doing stupid and dangerous things. But most of them are not evil beings. Stupid - even very stupid - does not equate to evil. It just doesn’t.

So I wish those people would wake up. But I do not wish bad things to happen to them.

When people who seem mostly good band together to enable very bad things it bends our concepts of personal morality to the breaking point. I know some people who seem quite decent, but whole-heartedly support Trump. Are they basically evil with a gloss of niceness? Got to be more to it than that. Do they compartmentalize to the point of being mentally ill? I’m still struggling to understand.

10. Be nice, or don't be nice. The virus doesn't care, it won't matter.

But, being nice is probably less stressful.

The wife is right: wish good to all.

But, of course, the wife is ALWAYS right.

11. No direct offense meant, but I would like people to think about "Karma" because it's a load

as far as I'm concerned.

In Illinois, a BABY died from CV19. What sin of insufficient well-wishing did that infant commit that deserved a death sentence? What about that bright young nurse in New York who was so inspiring as the leader of his unit, facing this hellish plague? Why did he deserve to die? What about the 42yo nurse sent to care for her symptoms at home with her 4yo daughter? Her daughter spent 16+ hours alone with her mommy's corpse before the police came to call. What debt of "Karma" did that nurse owe. What debt of "Karma" could that poor little girl possibly owe to have that ordeal stamped indelibly on her tiny soul?

I find the whole concept of "Karma" fairly exceptionable.

Trump deserves COVID19 and I hope he gets it.
