MIT researcher says droplets carrying coronavirus can travel up to 27 feet

Lydia Bourouiba, an associate professor at MIT, has researched the dynamics of exhalations (coughs and sneezes, for instance) for years at The Fluid Dynamics of Disease Transmission Laboratory and found exhalations cause gaseous clouds that can travel up to 27 feet.

Her research could have implications for the global COVID-19 pandemic, though measures called for by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization call for six and three feet of space, respectively.

I highly recommend that we increase social distancing to at least six-miles, pronto!

Ah, I was thinking about the little beasties dancing with glee as they ride the wind and surf the human spray.

Virus particles can be launched at tremendous speed, there is no data that says a mask can block all of those fast moving particles, a face shield maybe would.

Where droplets while sneezing were measured and various methods to stop their spread were tried out. Sneezing into your elbow crease was found to be most effective.

person who had just been tested (antigen test) got on a bus... sat at the front, person at the back (nobody else was on) sneezed. Both tested infected. Distance was measured at 4M.

They have it all on CCTV and the test results from both people.
