Some states say you must wear a mask in public

If there's nowhere to buy one, and you don't have the skill to make one, do you pay a $500 fine and/or perhaps do some jail time?

Actually, spending time in a crowded jail will probably kill you.

So much for common sense, or compassion in the red states that love themselves some of that death penalty stuff.

But really. If you're supposed to find a mask where the fuck do you find one?

(Don't use silk). One of the best tips I saw involved cutting up a vacuum cleaner bag.

The good ones should be saved for medical care staff. I didn't know any states were requiring that, that would be stupid knowing they are not readily available. People will be gouging people if they are required, they are already doing that to the hospitals and other first responders. I need to check this for accuracy to see if they are really requiring it.

There are lots of places on the web showing how to make your own. NOBODY outside of medicine need 95 masks, NOBODY.

Lord I just looked it up the LA mayor is telling 4 million people to wear them. This puts so many medical staff at risk. Just stay home people.

It is serious in hospitals, I have a cousin who is a doctor in Chicago, things are dire there in terms of PPE.

If there are they should have been put in the OP. Some locations are recommending it. Recommending and requiring are two different animals.

"I'm not going to wear a surgical mask, because clinicians need those," said Fineberg, former dean of the Harvard School of Public Health. "But I have a nice western-style bandana I might wear. Or I have a balaclava. I have some pretty nice options."

Your business is related to what she is over. How do you like Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried? For my vantage point, I am impressed with her and think that she would be an excellent Governor and beyond. An added feature is that she is female and still very young, so she has massive potential as far as future leadership opportunities.

Not the business I work for. We work for one of the largest Private employers in Florida. I’m in the agriculture field with that company. And parts of my job are regulated by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer affairs.

But we are getting hammered. I expect that in 3-4 weeks we will be furloughed. But will be fine. It a great company to work for and we will be back.

I agree she has a future. Probably as a future governor or Senator. But still think Gwen Graham is our best statewide candidate in a general election in the next few years.

For my vantage point, Fried came out of nowhere. I remember voting for her in the 2018 democratic primary because I liked her catchy name, I didn't know much about her.

Now, seeing her in action, I feel that she has that "IT" leadership quality that Graham is short on (though much better than DeSantis). I just feel that Fried has a much a larger upside and is more adaptable to meeting the varied challenges that the future of Florida and the USA have to face over the coming years.
