So my friend has to quit. He lives with 2 people with health issues
They decided to live on less money and try to avoid possible infection
Isn't that a caring corporate policy!! (Sarcasm very bitter)

(12,712 posts)Welcome to Wendy's, would you like some droplets or a big sneeze on your order? We aim, (very carefully) to please.
So, Wendy's intends to offer virus specials now? Try Wendy's NEW, Vector Burger and COVID Fries.
Cross them off the list even if it's two for one.

(12,761 posts)... so that health care workers had more masks to... stay... safe. Wait a minute - that means masks ARE for healthy people, too. So, healthy people start wearing masks, but then the get stigmatized as "being sick" - the kiss of death in food service.
Messaging. Bungled.
This country should've ramped up mask production BEFORE the problem was on our shores, and then required EVERYONE to wear them. This isn't a question of individual liberty, blah blah blah, it's national defense. Or, it would have been if we had leaders.

(13,776 posts)So my boycott of them means nothing. But I would boycott any restaurant that forbade its employees from wearing a mask. That's opposite-world! Why wouldn't they want to show they're being as careful as they can? It's weird.
I'm sorry about your friend. That's so wrong.

(3,222 posts)I'd rather be served by someone thinking enough to wear a mask than by someone who doesn't give a damn.

(32,595 posts)Old rumors - About 50 years ago they got caught adding earthworms to their ground beef and then a customer found a finger tip in their meal.
True or Not true?
Doesn't really matter as I have not eaten at a Wendy's oh...in about 50 years.

(8,049 posts)or fast food restaurant, there's always people who like checking in to the thread to let us know they never eat there/shop at Walmart/wouldn't be caught dead there/etc. Why? Is that to let us know how superior you are to the rest of us? If it isn't a place you would ever be, and the info isn't relevant to you, why not just move on? Edit to add: I do eat at Wendy's sometimes, and this does disturb me. They should be allowed to wear masks, and I would feel better if they weren't breathing on my food, frankly.

(24,259 posts)and Wendy's Corp. Ask them if this is an acceptable risk for their line workers and customers at this time and let them know it's not to you. I'd also contact local news and post on the local chain's Facebook, yelp and other review pages.
Here's a list that might help:

(12,581 posts)I'm pretty sure most company policies concerning safety gear would allow gloves and now probably masks for their drive-through workers. Here in San Diego, the majority of workers I've seen are already masked and gloved up - even a few of the ubiquitous 'Bertos Taco drive-throughs.
Except for Chick-fil-A. Only one of the workers was even wearing latex gloves.
