Mike Pence Falls Apart As Wolf Blitzer Recites Trump's Downplaying of Coronavirus

From the article:

Mike Pence tried to claim that Trump has never belittled the coronavirus, so Wolf Blitzer rattled off statements from Trump belittling the coronavirus threat.

Blitzer said that Trump had belittled the threat of this virus and asked Pence why a national stay at home order had not been issued.
Pence replied, “I don’t believe that the president has ever belittled the threat of this virus.”

Wolf Blitzer interrupted him and said, “I was suggesting he was saying at one point it wasn’t as bad as the regular flu. He was talking about automobile accidents. He seemed to be suggesting at one point there were 15 cases it would get down to zero very quickly. That was what I was basing that sentence on.”

This is not directed towards you guillaumeb. I'm more than a little tired of seeing these hyperbolic claims by the media of someone "falling apart" or so-n-so "going down in flames" when nothing of the sort has happened. Mike Pence spewed the same shit he always spews and Wolf Blitzer provided the same milquetoast song and dance he's been giving for decades. Then Mike Pence went on to spew more shit. No one fell apart and Wolf Blitzer certainly didn't rattle off any statements. He pulled paraphrases out of his ass.

I used to get stories from PoliticusUSA awhile back, but I unsubscribed. The stories, while for the most part accurate, are too skewed toward our perspective and the titles are regularly hyperbolic with Rachael "Eviscerating" Republicans and others "Destroying" right wingers. The stories are then shown to be as you said, the journalist just slightly pushing back on a talking point or making a statement then retreating. I mean Rachael does make good arguments that paint right wingers in a pretty negative light, and she does her homework, but she doesn't have right wingers on her show often enough to "eviscerate" anyone.

In his first on-line rally, Trump said "It's a hoax. A hoax".

Hoax.

Then remember how a few days ago he was saying all the churches will be full by Easter because this will be over and we'll have a beautiful time. No one ever mentions that absurd timeline floated by him.

I think Trump can say anything and it will be over by the next news cycle.

the implication was that the Democrats were over playing the seriousness. That, of course, was untrue. But yes, he says things and the media rarely pursues his lies.

He needs to take the honorable way out and resign.
Oh! Wait! He also lacks honor and decency.

I guess he continue in his worthless role as Vice-President.
At least until January 2021.

When he got challenged to defend outrageous and offensive things Trump had said, he just denied Trump had said them. That and the cringe-worthy boot-licking are all I needed to know about the fucker, but then I learned he's also a creepy pseudo-Christian whack-job.

Trump belittled the threat of the virus on numerous occasions, he's on record belittling the threat of the virus on numerous occasions, and there's video of him belittling the threat of the virus on numerous occasions.

There is absolutely no question of fact that he belittled the threat of the virus on numerous occasions.

NONE WHATSOEVER.

And yet these "journalists" at all the major news outlets bend over backwards to avoid calling the liars on their lies. Worse, they frequently provide cover for more lies!

Nobody can still seriously question why people have lost faith in big media corporations and their highly paid, telegenic, vacuous "journalists". They simply can't be trusted to tell the truth.
