Finally on front page MSM--African-Americans and COVID-19Last edited Tue Apr 7, 2020, 07:50 PM - Edit history (2)
NYT today: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/07/us/coronavirus-race
(I think their paywall's down for C-19 stories.) 'Ms. Lightfoot, the first black woman to be elected mayor of the city, said in an interview that the statistics were “among the most shocking things I think I’ve seen as mayor.”' CNN https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/07/us/coronavirus-black-americans-race/index.html Update--in Kansas City, Missouri: https://www.kansascity.com/news/coronavirus/article241824321.html AND Dr. Fauci said it out loud today in briefing!

8. I think part of it is about how records have been kept
It took a while to figure out what to track, which I can accept as innocent.
But some places have been tracking since the beginning, and those were just kind of mentioned on the side in stories with other primary topics. I really don't want to be a conspiracy theorist, but sometimes "they" make it so hard not to wonder! |

6. I'm not AA, but it had crossed my mind COVID-19 would affect some demo disproportionally
Live in here in ATL. Yes, more AA are dying at higher numbers than whites. I think I read about AA deaths in NYC too. Already, people of color are disadvantaged for socio-economic and heredity reasons (diabetes, heart, COPD, etc.) that make them more susceptible to this virus. Your mind can’t help but wander to a sinister thought that would allow this to run like fire through minority communities.

7. Chicago: 30% AA, 70% of total deaths, similarly shocking
data from some other cities. Bad, bad auger.
