H1N1/Swine Flu - 12,469 deaths over 13 months. Covid-19 - 12,748 in 6 wks

Trump likes to claim that H1N1 was worse - and that Obama somehow botched the response

Between Apr. 2009-Apr. 2010, CDC estimates 12,469 H1N1 deaths in U.S.

#COVID19 deaths in the U.S. just reached this mark, and it happened in less than 6 weeks since the first U.S. death

It was a tough week and I was living alone at the time. But it's definitely not as scary and untreatable as corona virus.

The CDC says the last death assignable to H1N1 was July 2009. The situation burned itself out in that month, too.
So, it was 15 months, not 13.
Using CDC info, H1N1 took 835/month. This is 1,800-2,000/week!
Another note: H1N1 hit in Obama's 3rd MONTH. The reaction was faster & more effective.
This hit in Trump's 3rd YEAR(!) and they were still unprepared.
