I used to wonder if rw'ers Bush and Ahmadinejad had a go-between to coordinate their activities.

When Bush was under pressure and needed to fire up his base or divert attention from his many foibles, he could pass a message to Ahmadinejad "Please say or do something stupid. I need something shiny to distract my opposition. Thanks in advance."

Likewise when Ahmadinejad would be under pressure domestically from his civilian opposition, he could pass a message to Bush "Please say or do something stupid. I need something shiny to distract my opposition. Thanks in advance."

Bush isn't much of a factor anymore, but the our Christian fundamentalists seem to have the same arrangement with their Muslim fundamentalists. The both know that 99% of their faith just want to go to work and raise a family, but their 1% of fundamentalists can create quite a fuss. Republican strategists undoubtedly believe this recurring clash of fundamentalists will play to their benefit.
