Snips:
3M Co. said it filed a lawsuit against Performance Supply LLC on Friday, alleging that the New Jersey-based company had posed as an authorized vendor of 3M-branded N95 respirators and offered millions of them for sale to New York City officials at prices as much as 600% over the list price.

The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Manhattan, said Performance Supply “offered to sell $45 million in N95 respirators to New York City officials at prices 500-600% over 3M’s list price.” According to the lawsuit, Performance Supply offered about 7 million 3M masks to city procurers on March 30 at over $6, up to 600% of 3M’s list price.

.

It's a $600K home and I guess they want to keep it in the family.

I don't want to name names or directly reveal the residence, but mentioned on page 5 of the following document.

Excerpt...

Unfortunately, certain third parties do not share 3M’s sense of civic responsibility during this time of crisis. Indeed, opportunistic third parties are seeking to exploit the increased demand for Plaintiff’s 3M-brand N95 respirators by offering to sell them for exorbitant prices, selling counterfeit versions of them, and accepting money for 3M-brand N95 respirators despite not having the product to sell and/or never intending to deliver the product to the unwitting buyer—in many instances, a public authority, such as the City of New York, which struggles to address the enormous financial and logistical challenges presented by COVID-19.

Accordingly, to protect consumers on the front lines of the COVID-19 battle from deception and inferior products, to reduce time wasted by governmental officials on scams, as well as to protect the widespread reputation and goodwill enjoyed by Plaintiff’s carefully curated 3M brand, Plaintiff is working diligently with law enforcement, retail partners, and others to combat unethical and unlawful business practices related to 3M-brand N95 respirators.

3M has this covered.......

I suspect that bunch of crooks won't be resting well for a while......

4. I figured that the 3M N95 masks would sell for a couple of bucks normally, maybe cheaper in bulk.

But yeah, grifters will grift.

That house in New Jersey looks nice! (Look up the address in the document, then google it) Great buy at $1 !! /sarcasm

In latest news:

Grand daughter works for a company that makes curtains and blinds, and was slated to be shut down as a non-essential business for the duration. (South Australia, some severe closing down happening across the country.)

Except, some brain there came up with some lateral thinking: switched part of their production line over to making masks.
So, business is now classified as essential, and not closing down.

AND she is sending us some! Hope they are good ones.

Ran across this one on a Jackson, MS TV station web site this morning......

Man tries to sell 125 million face masks that he didn't have, Justice Department says

Link: https://www.wapt.com/article/man-tries-to-sell-125-million-face-masks-that-he-didnt-have-justice-department-says/32112570

A 39-year-old Atlanta man was arrested and charged in federal court for allegedly attempting to sell millions of nonexistent respirator masks to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The Justice Department said Christopher Parris has been charged with wire fraud. He allegedly tried to sell 125 million face masks and other equipment that would have totaled over $750 million worth of supplies.

Just like Trump, all fake.......
