You're going to get this in the forwarded emails and

it hasn't hit snopes yet. I googled I-635 and it appears the Texas DOT is in charge of the highway.. <http://www.txdot.gov/project_information/projects/dallas/i635.htm>

What is he thinking?
I-635 in Texas is being rebuilt with underground tolls from I-35 to I-45
and is contracted to a CHINESE firm for over $5 billion.
Diane Sawyer reporting on U.S. bridge projects going to the Chinese.
The bridges are here in the U.S. and Obama has approved for Chinese contractors to come
in and do the work.
Watch this video. It doesn't take long to view.
This one should be tough for the supporters of the current regime to swallow.
U.S.A. Bridges and Roads Being Built by Chinese Firms
This video is a jaw-dropper that will make you sick.
(It was also shocking that ABC was actually reporting this story.)
The lead-in with Obama promising jobs in the U.S. by improving our infrastructure is so typical of all his promises!
Our tax dollars are at work - for CHINA !!!
I pray all the unemployed see this and cast their votes accordingly in 2012!

google I-635 Texas.

That will take you to the site. I tried re-entering the address and it brings up page not found, but the google link doesn't.

You want us to pass on something that is being done by the Texas Department of Transportation to everyone?

Isn't this a State contract?

It may be federally-funded, but would it not be the state DoT actually doing the contracting?

And if TX violated any Buy American requirements, then that's on their watch, not Obama's. If they want to bid it out to the Chinese, and they are legally permitted to do so, then, again, call the Republican governor.

If true, do they think that the Chinese are going to bring in hordes of Chinese day laborers? The Chinese question aside, how is this any different from a foreign company, say, Subaru, building a car manufacturing plant? They are going to hire local workers. They are going to pay their salaries in US Dollars.

Sure, you can question the issue of selling parts of the federal interstate highway system, but, like it or not, this has been going on for years. I think the UAE owns parts of highways throughout the country, as well as many US ports. It may suck, but it's legal, and it's been going on far longer than Obama has been in office.

Or it's not true, and I just wasted 10 minutes.

...once outsourced port security to a major east-coast harbor to Dubai, IIRC. I don't remember the particulars, except that there was a HUGE stink about it.

The block sender feature is my friend.

The few RWers that I HAVE to have contact with (family members) know better than to even try that crap with me.
