I am not willing to die for corporate profit or Trump's ego.

And I don't want anyone to die for corporate profit or Trump. If it takes a year to shut it all down to save lives then shut it the hell down. People before profit. Trump is enraging me with his mania for capitalism now before it is safe. He already has blood on his hands. I know many who are suffering with the economic shutdown but our loved one's lives are much more important than money.

1. Same. Seems like all the governors are going to go along.

3. I don't see a move by governors to "go along" with Trump

By forming partnerships with other states, they seem to be seizing control, saying "We will decide when our states re-open".

4. TN Gov Lee is the first I know of to announce reopening

Just yesterday! 🤬

Right after Vanderbilt released projection for state peak mid-June IF all protections remained in place.

And he refused to say whether he will order schools to reopen, but I am sure he will because schools serve as daycare to working parents.

So, will we have an entire generation of young people with potential lung, heart & liver damage from this moron's order to reopen the state?

He specifically said this is to go along with dump's desire to reopen the country.

Fk him. I'll stay hunkered down!

The repuke act of denial will not make the virus go away & he, like shitstain, will have more blood on their hands! 🤬

6. Seems like a prefect time to leave this state. Luckily I live in a motorhome and can do that.

Just need an RV park to land in, thinking about New Mexico.😷

2. What should we all plan on eating a year from now,

What with the whole country shut down?

Winter should be extra fun. (Though it will be hunting season.)

13. I just got my 2020 fishing licence.

I sort of gave up fishing a few years ago. But, I didn't give up a lifetime of skill at it.

Who knows?

5. Yes.

Totally agree.

We need to carefully plan a way back. Look to the countries that are successfully navigating the way, and emulate their tactics. Widespread testing. Antibody testing. Masks required to enter stores and workplaces. Extend social distancing tools. Tracking and tracing cases and spread. It can be done, but it has to be planned and extensive.

He has to re-invent the wheel on everything by committee and with Jared and Ivanka in charge of the committee.

9. Can Biden win with the campaign promise of....

ďIf I become President, I promise I will keep this lockdown for one more year!Ē

Iím not trying to be smug, but I just donít see either side extending this lockdown that long.

I also, honestly donít see the American public putting up with it much longer. If Tennessee, or other States start easing up on restrictions, the rest of the populace will start to go stir crazy.
I am already seeing other Countries using soft reopenings, so I think we will gradually follow them, State by State, and I think that will start in May.

Not saying itís right, Iím just stating my opinion.

14. My opinion,

Open up Arkansas, or few other red states first and see what happens. They can be the test.
Any metro area is going to blow up without testing.

23. No, but I bet he will win

if a handful of red states open up in a week or two and half a million people die in those states in June and July. Of course, I bet he will win without that, also.

11. Early re-opened states will be an experiment in the war on COVID-19

These are war time conditions, existential threat. You grab money from where you can - tax the rich, cannibalize corporate profits, and you prioritize production of essentials, like WWII. The MBAs of their days did input-output calculations on paper. CEOs converted factories of course. You do this today with food, medical supplies, farms, trucking, distribution energy - essentials. You use the power of the government to regulate during a crisis of this magnitude.

Trump is already 3 months behind. None of this has dawned on any of his administration. They think you just open and everyone will be fine as more people die and more waves are unleashed. It won't be fine.

18. Some states are approaching readiness for relaxation of the lockdown.

WA and CA are good candidates. It won't be every state at once, and it won't be a completely relaxation of everything at once, that would be stupid.

But people do need income, and work is piling up that needs to be done. We've also been locked down longer than most of the nation, so we're feeling it a lot more.

The trick will be to do so in measured, justifiable and safe steps. Not 'opening the floodgates'. It primarily needs to be tied to capacity in the health care system, because this disease is primarily deadly when the ER's and ICU's are full. It's not going away, not till we get herd immunity via antibodies from survivors, and a vaccine. We have to manage the ebb and flow of the critically ill.

That's the key to bringing back some economic recovery, after we missed the boat early, due to Trump's incompetence.

20. Well...

that's what it is now. It may not have been 40, 50, 60+ years ago, but these days, that is what it is. Anyone who is willing to risk others health in the name of a green piece of paper deserves what they are going to get. And, I hate to break it to those who are screaming about the freaking economy, but there are other options. It's just that those options don't allow those with all the green to stay in power. Waah for them.

22. No, it's not what it is now

People work and provide the valuable goods and services that other people need or want. They get paid for this so they can buy the things they need or want. If people aren't working then people aren't making those goods or providing those services. You can't eat money.

Division of labor is not a capitalist plot.

26. people could be working

to feed themselves. People could be worrying about a more community and agrarian minded societal model. Or, we could just set things up so that basic needs are met, thus freeing more people to make you richer, yes? The argument that free-wheeling, out of control capitalism is the only game in town is a baseless one. It just happens to be the one popular with the people who profit from a gamed system. You may be surprised to learn this, but most of us work to live, not live to work. Just the fact that all you can see is the concept of having to eat money as the only other option is interesting though. Ahh, who am I kidding. Any thought of changing anything in our vicious, dog eat all economy is pointless lunacy. We are too far down the rabbit hole. Sorry to bother you.

21. I have never been willing to die for corporate profit...

although I have to laugh at the fact that this sentiment has garnered me ridicule and scorn (and unemployment of course... no such thing as a thinking wage slave). Now, thanks to a freaking global pandemic, more and more people are starting to say, "Hey, why should I support a grossly rigged economy?" I will say it again, that green piece of paper has value because the people who have most of it say it does. We can either keep drinking the kool aid or we can try to make a better version of the current rigged game. Do I have hope of this. Of course, not... I live in America, where hope is just another way the elite suck you in.

25. But what about your MORAL OBLIGATION to the rich people losing money on the stock market?

I heard something like that asked on one of the business shows. Apparently some rich people had invested in airlines and cruise lines when they should have invested in jigsaw puzzle futures.
