Nevada, Colorado, Iowa, Wisconsin, Virginia, North Carolina & Florida - we need 11

Last edited Wed Sep 12, 2012, 03:06 PM - Edit history (1)

You can add in one electoral vote from Nebraska, which may come into play.

Where do we get our 11 votes to win this race.

Nevada 6
Colorado 9
Iowa 6
Wisconsin 10
Virginia 10
North Carolina 15
Florida 29
Nebraska 1 (they split votes, Obama won 1 in 2008).

Post here where we'll get our 11 Electoral votes.

My thoughts - I think Colorado and Wisconsin are safe and we'll get their 19 votes. We'll also get one from Nebraska which gives us another 1 vote that puts us at 20 or 269 votes. Unfortunately that puts us at an even split which means we need to find 1 more electoral vote somewhere.

I think Florida will go Romney thanks to all the hideous stuff that Rick Scott has done this past year.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.

Virginia is just iffy to me at this time but I'm hoping for the best.

But those 2 states have been leaning blue now for over a month with Obama up around 10 points. So I think we can count on those 2 states.

Obama has locked up the votes thanks to multiple gaffes that offends Colorado by both Rmoney and Rayn.

If Obama gets Michigan and Ohio he will only need 15 more votes, not 21. Add NH and he only needs 11.

That's 259 without NV, CO, IA, WI, VA, NC, FL, and 1 from Nebraska.

the only one I'm unsure of is whether we will lose Florida or North Carolina.

These things tend to tidal wave in the swing states. I don't see NC as a real swing state and VA is borderline.

It depends on the turnout. If the Repubs are not enthused enough, Obama will carry our state. I think the President will also carry Wisconsin, even with Ryan on Repub ticket, and also Iowa.

I think Obama stands a good chance of winning Florida. Nevada, VA, and NC are up in the air.
