Georgia to re-open movie theaters

Just curious, would anyone here go to a movie theater before there is a vaccine for this crap?

As a follow up question: do these idiots really think that everything is going back to before covid?

But as far as #1 goes - if there's a vaccine or herd immunity or the virus just dies out, we could go back to pre-covid times. Maybe cleaner and with better air circulation and food preparation, but there is that possibility.

I might go later in year. I like having a bit of room to stretch out.

I doubt there will be a big rush to return to theaters for months.

She isn't leaving her house. Her adult sons are healthy (younger) and also isolating as much as possible.

Albany is a 'hot spot' and she knows a LOT of people that have died

And, another official. I think the head of the county board, and don't recall her name.
They were both adamant that they questioned the wisdom of reopening and won't be so anxious in their town.

There is no way in hell that the vast majority of the country is going to show up for ANY of this "grand re-opening" fever dream that is consuming the GOP...

Trump believes that he can flip a switch and the economy is going to just pop back into existence...it ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN.

Unless we have serious testing, contact tracing, quarantine of infected individuals and eventually effective treatments and/or a vaccine, social gathering is on hiatus.

Sure, young and stupid people will show up to bars and maybe restaurants or outdoor gatherings....and they will get sick, a few will die too...but they cannot be allowed to wantonly spread the virus and infect others.

Fuck the GOP and their "profits over people" / "give your life to save the economy" bullshit. Fuckers are incorrigible...they really do have their sheep trained to do anything up to and including dying for the sake of Trump not having to admit he was wrong or just flat out being held accountable for horrendous performance in general.

This was probably the best part. I'm stunned that these states are willing to kill their own citizens. Hopefully people in these states will practice social distancing in spite of their poor leadership.

Georgia had a burgeoning movie industry and I remember it taking a hit when Kemp was elected.

Were bringing in $5K.

So, yeah... Not so much of a potential economic revival there. On top of, "What movies are they going to show?"

The only benefit I can see to this is they can blame their old bugga-boo, Hollywood for their troubles.

I work with a "liberator." She's an immigrant, born in Mexico but considers herself European. She's a republican and she views lockdowns as tyranny. She says she will not be forced into taking a vaccine. And yes, she thinks everything will be back to normal come next week.

I told her not to let her guard down and to continue to wear a mask and gloves when out in public. I was especially worried for her due to her cocky language when talking about the virus as if it's past tense... she says things like, "I'm so happy that God spared me!"

Has the GOP considered that they may open businesses up and no one shows up to buy what they are selling? You'd have to be pretty stupid to go into a crowded cinema at this point in the crisis.
