I just watched Weber try to explain the Romney faux pas yesterday.
The summary? It was an apology, (from the embassy) it didn't work, therefore it was proper for Romney to attack Obama.
For those who don't know Weber, or tried their damnedest to forget about him, he was a pre-Bachmann entity from Minnesota. He was called either the most conservative, or most ridiculous congresscritter on more than one occasion.
He's a flag-burning member of PNAC, the neocon group which wants to nuke the Middle East into a glassy plain (except for israel), and was a staunch opponent of women's rights.
Serving as Romney's economic advise makes perfect sense. After all, Weber was one of the several Congresscritters who routinely bounced checks on the House Bank (a convenience that allowed congressmen grab some cash at odd hours). more than 100 checks totaling many thousands were kited by Weber, leading to his ouster from the House.
If Romney can promote himself as a business guru, after destroying jobs, companies, and livelihoods, then Weber is the perfect economic advisor for him.
