DU promoters of the Joe "Dead Intern" Scarborough thing have a new ally!
If you conduct a search of DU for "dead intern"
https://www.google.com/search?q=%22dead+intern%22+site%3Ademocraticunderground.com You will get a hundreds of results suggesting that Joe Scarborough is culpable in the death of Lori Klausutis. Ms. Klausitis was an intern who worked for then-Congressman Scarborough. She had a heart condition, had been complaining of not feeling well, and was found dead after working alone in his office. An investigation concluded that her condition caused her to lose consciouness, fall, and hit her head on a piece of furniture. A number of DUers have steadfastly maintained for years - on the basis of no evidence whatsoever - that Ms. Klausutis was killed by Joe Scarborough, and that he managed to cover up her murder. The remarkable part about the cover-up is that Ms. Klausutis' husband and parents were apparently in on it. Not once in the many years since her death have those closest to and most personally invested in Ms. Klausutis raised any suspicion whatsoever that her death was anything other than it was determined to be. Fortunately, total strangers on the internet care more about her than they do, and so they know "what really happened". Nevertheless, the epithet "dead intern Joe" is a common one on DU, because for people who toss that around, she is not really a person, and her family and loved ones are not really people either. Her corpse is just a convenient prop to wave around when a person on TV says things we don't like. And before someone starts with the "Oh, that never happened here" thing, here are search results specific to the phrase "dead intern Joe" on DU: https://www.google.com/search?q=%22dead+intern+joe%22+site%3Ademocraticunderground.com Take a look through there, and don't tell me "Oh, those were trolls who are all gone now." Well, fear not, diehard "dead intern Joe" folks, you have a new friend in the White House: Link to tweet ![]() Truth doesn't have an agenda. Lies do.

1. Why is Trump attacking his ally, Morning Scab?
Scab's wife has been banging the drum for the (false) accusations against Trump's opponent.

4. No she hasn't
They even covered the Putin support angle. But when people are so steeped in their own point of view, then when someone discusses the various aspects of the false accusations, they only seem to hear every other word, because anger blinds them to what is actually being said. |

see that there is no drum banging against Trump's opponent. Trump has good reason to go after them.

22. I quit watching after her attack piece the other day.
Is she toning it down? That's not my impression from other posts today, but as you say, a bit of rage-bias may be involved...

2. Is this an appropriate subject for D?
Most people knew Joe had nothing to do with her death. He was in DC when she fell, hitting her head.

I'm sorry, why is it appropriate for people to prop up this conspiracy theory shit for years, but inappropriate to point out where it leads? |

13. I remember it well.
Once the truth came out I never thought of it. At first I did. One of the board posters I was on went to the same Church the young girl did. He knew her.

9. Joe and Mika will really rip him to shreds after this.
Trump is rewriting history about how he "used... and dumped them". He was furious when they turned against him. Remember the notorious Tweet about Mika bleeding after plastic surgery at Mar-a-Lago? I wish I had it handy so I could post it. It was one of his most ruthless tweets and allegedly even appalled his inner circle (source, probably Fire and Fury but it could be Phil Rucker).

18. These tweets were the first sign (to me) that Trump was dangerously
thin-skinned and that despite his bluster and bravado he was severely wounded by rejection and perceived betrayal--and that he couldn't hide the fact that he was.

19. IIRC, it took root back when Joe and his fellow Republicans...
...were banging the conspiracy gong about the disappearance of Gary Condit's intern Chandra Levy. They - and gossipy Washington media - were all over the idea that Condit had "disappeared" her after an affair. Fresh off the Lewinsky business, they were primed for Round 2, and the Republicans were happy to fan that flame.
Of course, we know that Levy's body was found a year later. She'd been mugged and killed while jogging in a park. At the time, the "dead intern" thing was just turnabout for the Republicans conveniently polarized standard of evidence. But some people never let it go. |
