Forget about Donnie's crazy talk...people waited to hear the medical experts. They need to hear them.

(60,010 posts)The daily televised task force thing was so trump could be in front of cameras.
Eventually, happily, he fucked that up and had to slink away, so no need for a staged "task force"
The big push for ending lockdowns was so he could do rallies and get more attention.
Period.
Be interesting to see how many show up for them...

I wish Fauci would work for Biden. He'd have more job security.

Hed pull away resources once things started looking good and transfer them to his next great conquest. And I guess the fact that he considered himself a genius and no one could talk him out of it.

(58,785 posts)genuine experts who've put their reputations on the line to try to retain access so they they might have some influence, though apparently usually almost none.
Another way to look at it is that forming it was pure negligence, right?
And, after all, large numbers here have smeared the genuine experts for their efforts and insisted they should be gone. So the inevitable point arrives where Trump agrees.
And soo, those latter get what they wished for, which is perhaps less than they deserve. But, after all, who imagines replacing Fauci with some corrupt plumbing contractor, or whomever, who made a big donation to Trump would change Trump's decisions all that much?
Everything BUT Fauci's and Birx's desperate tightrope walks was always a sham. Good riddance.
And maybe it's best to cut elderly Fauci and Birx a break before they collapse from exhaustion and anxiety. They can try to poke Trump through the talk shows.

(63,221 posts)This has to be the most destructive and useless administration in the history of our country. If they aren't actively cocking something up, they are passively allowing it to fall apart.
