Holy crap! CNN dishonest reporting on polls

Via Daily Kos:

CNN declares OH close and FL and VA a tie!

I rarely post here, but I had to vent when I came a cross this douzy by CNN:

CNN Dishonesty

Here's CNN: Ohio trending for Obama; Florida, Virginia tied

Obama soars in Ohio/Florida Virginia brand new NBC/Marist polls

NBC/WSJ/Marist: Obama 50, Romney 43, (OH), Obama 49, Romney 44, (FL), Obama 49, Romney 44 (VA)

With numbers like this, can Romney retroactively un-nominate himself?

The next best thing might be if he decides to cede himself at the voting polls. Perhaps he will do that if he his placed under retroactive obligation from his own party to pay back all of the costs of running a miserably failed campaign.

They described the race there as "tied". I wonder how far up obama has to be before this race is no longer "tied". 20 points?

If that's what they're doing, and there isn't really anything dishonest about it, the results would be:

Ohio: Obama +4.2
Virginia: Obama +.4
Florida: Obama +1.3

Even then, Obama has a slight lead in FL and I guess you could say Virginia is a statistical tie.

The report is about the NBC Marist polls.

It says nothing about averaging polls.

Stop excusing dishonesty.

10. No, but
Fri Sep 14, 2012, 02:38 AM
Sep 2012

given the blatantly dishonest reporting, why try to excuse it?

I mean, there is nothing in that report showing FL and VA tied. Here's the text.

Voters in both Florida and Virginia split 49% for Obama and 44% for Romney, a five point difference within the poll's sampling error of 3.1.

WTF?

Where's the other 8%?

Do they REALLY expect us to believe 8% are "undecided"?

Someone needs to do a comedy skit of one of these people trying to order a pizza.

After this whole screw up by Mitt we will see the pollsters have to admit Obama has over 50%.
