http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/09/14/has-bibi-netanyahu-s-criticism-of-obama-s-iran-policy-gone-too-far.htmlThe common thread in much of the commentary: that Netanyahu is maligning President Obama (though not by name) in order to influence the outcome of the U.S. election in favor of Mitt Romney, the Republican candidate.
While Netanyahu denied the charge and has since softened his tone, the episode marked further deterioration in his relationship with the U.S. administration, and it could well have adverse consequences for the Israeli leader if Obama is reelected in November.
..........
Netanyahu has warned that Israel might attack the Iranian facilities if Obama fails to provide a firmer commitment for action against the program. (Iran says its developing peaceful nukes, a claim that most intelligence agencies reject.) Some analysts believe Netanyahu might strike before the U.S. election, at a time when Obama is more likely to rally for Israelnot wanting to alienate pro-Israel voters in key states like Florida.
But polls show most Americans dont want the U.S. involved in a war against Iran. The White House has said more time is needed for sanctions against the regime to work.
..............
I don't like this guy Netanyahu who went to school with mitt romney believe it or not, and who wants romney elected. when mitt spoke about Libya yesterday, Netanyahu's words were in there, insulting our president, calling him a terrorist sympathizer, calling him weak, trying to force him into a war with Iran.
Netanyahu and romney are two very dangerous people and we should keep them both from doing anything rash.

Also, they didn't attend school together.

(15,019 posts)But in 1976, the lives of Mitt Romney and Benjamin Netanyahu intersected, briefly but indelibly, in the 16th-floor offices of the Boston Consulting Group, where both had been recruited as corporate advisers. At the most formative time of their careers, they sized each other up during the firms weekly brainstorming sessions, absorbing the same profoundly analytical view of the world.
That shared experience decades ago led to a warm friendship, little known to outsiders, that is now rich with political intrigue. Mr. Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, is making the case for military action against Iran as Mr. Romney, the likely Republican presidential nominee, is attacking the Obama administration for not supporting Mr. Netanyahu more robustly.

We CANNOT continue to support these warmongers any longer.
The Israels are good folks, for the most part, as are the Palestinians, for the
most part.
We need to STOP the killing and allow folks to raise their kids in peace.

(4,982 posts)Obama is too smart to listen to the clown (and his cohorts Sheldon Adelson and Romney).
It's a bad, BAD idea that Americans WILL NOT support. If Israel wants to attack Iran, let them do their own damn dirty work - for a change.

I for one am glad Obama is acting on behalf of the American people,
rather than a foreign nation with an ax to grind.

"The guest registry also included Sheldon Adelson, the ubiquitous gambling magnate, and Ronald Lauder, an heir to the Estée Lauder cosmetics fortunea pair of American billionaires who, improbably, have also become major Israeli media moguls."

Adelson owns the Israeli daily newspaper Israel HaYom. This is obviously a man who is a controlling factor in not only American politics, but also that of Israel. I just wonder who influences whom or is it a common goal with the Netanyahu-Adelson-Romney triad?
Netanyahu may have backed down some from his clear support of Romney and his intimidation of our President. But, that's not hard to do because his words won't be forgotten.

Obama has a 54% popularity rating in Israel, but as with everything else, the blovation of the republicans here shape reality for the "liberal press."
It is partisan over there like it is here.
YES, he is trying to interject himself into this election, he is partisan to the republican party like Mitch McConnell or any other republican politician.

Iran isn't going to produce the weapons level uranium and technology to put into some kind of weapon in the next two months.
STFU and let our elections go, then once the president and congress for the next two years is decided, our president can have the freedom to make whatever decisions are necessary in regard to this situation without political concerns.
Obama is a cool enough person that he knows this.
They are not forcing his hand.

(15,237 posts)Turkey has problems with Israel mostly Israels fault and Iraq really trusts Israel (not). The United States has influence with both, but why would they want to alienate the two countries that they have relatively good relations? The simple minded ass running for President via the GOP and Netanyahu would have the United States wreck just about the only place left in the Middle East we have fair relations and for what a cloud of fallout and regional animosity.
We sacrificed a lot in Iraq just wonder how the generation who fought there would feel about another war? They were welcomed home as winners and have a stake in the success in Iraq which so far has not become a greater tragedy. If anyone one thinks Vietnam created angst with veterans mess with Iraq and see what happens. Turkey has nothing to fear from Iran and invasion of Iraq would provoke the instant wrath of the United States. As oil shuts down in the Gulf the 2008 Recession/Depression will seem like the good old days. It would take two complete idiots as head of State to make this happen for now there is one in Israel (who has not convinced his own people) and the other running for President (GOP) is busy acting like a blathering fool. Obama is the only real adult blocking this insanity and his opponents are calling him names which he ignores as an adult.
