1. The Repubs have already pushed it off until June before they will even discuss it again.

I wish they would give us some, at least, until this is over. They should do something for us. Most other western countries are taking care of their citizens. Our government is full of stingy scrooges who seem to think we are freeloading if they give us some of our tax dollars back.

2. It is important that the House propose a solid progressive recovery program..

If we start with whatver crap (if any) the Senate comes up with we are guaranteed to lose.

3. Yes that is what Speaker Pelosi endorsed. The Yang GBI approach

And yes we know it wonít pass with the current senate.

Which makes it an excellent campaign issue to flip the senate

Good policy is often good politics.

6. I'm not counting on it. Was surprised they even went for the $1200, and enhanced

federal unemployment payments. Although Iím sure McConnell and trump did so knowing Democratic pressure would be immense.

Iím sure the next round of help will be an ugly fight, with a lot of grandstanding and bashing of the poor, but expect something substantial for unemployed.

15. I am betting they will extend the unemployment after July 31st

But I donít see much past that. And to be honest, the people hurting are the ones that are furloughed, or laid off. Every one else, theoretically are not hurting financially.

Now that more and more States are starting to reopen, I donít see another universal payment.

8. Some families would get 10 grand a month

No way is this passing. Even some house democratic member will vote no. The reason for the 10 grand is 2,000 for mom and dad and 2,000 per kid up to three kids. So a couple gets 4 grand. A family of 3 gets 6 grand. A family of four gets 8 grand and a family of 5 or more gets 10 grand.

10. That's what I think is a problem

Payments would be a lot better with a larger sum, like $3,000 per household instead of per person. The added cost of feeding a family could be compensated for by giving a SNAP card with something like $2-300 per person.

A single person living next to a family with three kids has similar rent/mortgage, utilities etc. They shouldn't get 1/5th of the amount.

12. Or they could do $2000 per household, plus a *modest* increase for each extra person.

11. No way this will happen, but it's a good starting

point for negotiations- I could see them settling on one more $1200 payment at minimum. Hopefully it will lie somewhere between the two.

And it better be soon.
