Smoking Gun: Producer of Anti-Islam Film Was Fed Snitch

DOCUMENT: Crime
Producer Of Anti-Islam Film Was Fed Snitch
L.A. man began cooperating with prosecutors after 2009 fraud bust

SEPTEMBER 14--In remarks stressing that the U.S. government had “absolutely nothing to do with” the anti-Islam film that has touched off violence in the Middle East, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton yesterday sought to quash Arab concerns that the “disgusting and reprehensible” movie was somehow produced or condoned by American officials.

However, Clinton’s attempt to distance the U.S. from “Innocence of Muslims”--and, by extension, its felonious producer--may be complicated by the revelation that Nakoula Basseley Nakoula became a government informant after his 2009 arrest for bank fraud, The Smoking Gun has learned.

Though many key documents from the U.S. District Court case remain sealed, a June 2010 sentencing transcript provides an account of Nakoula’s cooperation with federal investigators in Los Angeles (and how his prison sentence was reduced as a result).

Nakoula, 55, was arrested in June 2009 for his role in a check-kiting ring that stole nearly $800,000 from six financial institutions by using stolen Social Security numbers and identities.  Nakoula was named in a six-count felony indictment accusing him and unnamed “co-schemers” of perpetrating the bank fraud.

Denied bail, Nakoula, a married father of three, was locked up at the Metropolitan Detention Center in L.A. when he began cooperating with Justice Department lawyers and federal agents. During a series of debriefing sessions, Nakoula provided investigators with a detailed account of the fraud operation and fingered the man who allegedly headed the operation, according to comments made by his lawyer at sentencing.

1 Witness says no protesters outside during attack. (protesters showed up later)
2 Glenn (1 of 4 killed) was actively helping to expose christian fundamentalism in military.

Convenient? or cover up?

Also read that documents were taken.

State Department and CIA are essentially the same agency. Plus they all have inter-agency liaisons.

The New Yorker recently had an article about snitches. They are very specific in their tasks and do not cross over into other areas. If he was snitching on financial fraud that would have nothing to do with security issues.

I know because I caught the Queen of Fraud twice years apart...in Toronto. She had over 100 convictions. I could never understand why the justice system just gave them a slap on the wrist...perhaps a couple years of prison time.

She used her employer's ID the first time I caught her. The 2nd time a few years later she had used her prison cell mate's ID.

Then I saw her on an afternoon TV show documentary on her explaining prison etiquette while she was in prison.

Not the end of her, though...She later was caught working in the customer service department where I worked, under a fictious name. She knew the jig was up when she saw the police and the company's fraud manager so was ready and put her hands behind her back for the cuffs.

Still not the end of it. She got out on bail when she told the judge she had a daughter with leukemia, which turned out not true. Don' know what happened to her after that.

I don't think a person who is convicted of fraud will ever change their spots.

In the case of who this guy snitched on....who were they and where are they now?

He turned in his associates, for a lighter sentence. This is dirt-common, and does not indicate the man is from thence forward a controlled source for law enforcement, let alone a source or asset for intelligence agencies or worse. It does not even create a reasonable presumption of the latter.

First, where did the money for the 'production' actually come from....

Second, just how did this come to the attention of this Egyptian Glenn Beck two days before the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks....

and don't forget two other things - that article about earlier 9/11 warnings - no discussion about that now and the last two weeks of bad news and bad polls for the smirker (who will never be) in chief.

A criminal will only snitch on his associates but nothing more? He's gone straight? While I don't know if I believe he was a government snitch, It defies logic to believe he'd never do any other dirty work for the government.
