I tested negative

Two reasons for testing: one, my chronic illnesses give me all the COVID symptoms (except fever) all the time, and it's just a matter of degree whether I'm sick or not, so my pulmonologist ordered the test.

More important: If I did have it, I wanted my case added to the numbers to make Trump look bad.

Actually, three reasons: We've been scrupulous about wearing masks and gloves when we go out (only for groceries and medications) and when the next wave occurs I want to feel superior.

Well, four. My son was worried.

Turns out I just had a garden variety pneumonia, but still had a week in the hospital.

Including asymptomatic to get a good community estimate to help with planning? Though some places will test some asymptomatic people, I do not know if any are trying to get a good estimate for the percent infected.

false negatives and false positives your particular test has?

Those two things have been huge in a lot of the testing.

I was questioned on DU about why did I get the test and explained, but really it's not others' business and more tests is helpful to the research that needs to be done.

What is unfortunate is that it takes the second test for antibodies to tell if I had this in February, so really everyone should be getting both tests.

I wish negative results from the swab test meant more than "we don't have it this day we are tested", we are still every bit as much at risk as ever.

Guess what? White House staff are being tested every day. I could also see it for hospital staff and first responders. Maybe every other day for flight crews.

If we had the will, the equipment and the labs maybe once a week for the rest of us. There should be a logical way to figure this out.

But to say never because you're not sneezing of coughing or have a fever isn't to have been paying attention for the last 4 months.

Only tested positive with a third test when he went on the ventilator. So I don’t trust the test results. The negatives favor Trumpco.

But, can't count on it - since it can be negative one day and positive the next. The antibody test is what you need.

I hope you have a finger pulse oximeter. Even if some are cheap and not so accurate, at least you can get an idea of your oxygen levels SpO2, pulse rate PR, and a few that come with also PI perfusion index.

I need it for my MIL - has asthma hbp, husband - diabetic/hbp, daughter who is pregnant, me - diabetic/hbp.

Good luck!
