It is almost like voting in bluster, bullshit and bollocks leads to awful health outcomes...

Watching America from the UK, as the virus took hold, and you had a bollocks right wing faux up rising against 'tyranny' and a health service that is not accessible for many - the refrain has been on this side of the pond, as we hunker down, well at least we are not America, we, after all have the NHS and less nuttery. And we are certainly not America, based on the data today, we are more fucked in the number of deaths per capita by a mile. Yes ladies and gentlemen, if you can believe it, the utter horror of Trumps incompetence, is nothing in comparison to the Johnson Cummings combo of ineptitude. A dangerously hubristic duo whose arrogance has led to so many unnecessary deaths.

America: 296.74 deaths per million
UK: 543.76 deaths per million

I think the difference in the numbers is the State Governors in America. We have councils over here, but they have nowhere near the same levels of decision making powers. So in America the States management of Covid cushions against the worst outcomes from the policies coming out of the WH - well in blue states anyway. In the UK there is no such buffer zone of competent management, strategy and planning - hence our higher per capita death rate.

Trump sucks bad, and based on death rates Johnson sucks worse. Yay for us 👀

And, also, you are closer to the center of this infection. We do have that ocean as a buffer zone.

The UK has more reported deaths because we have many of those governors who are not allowing the detahs to be counted as Covid-19 related (see Florida for example). So, when all is finally analyzed our current ESTIMATE of 100,000 is probably 50% low so out per capita is still currently behind you (closer to 543 to 450) .

BUT THE BIG DIFFERENCE ... we are opening far too soon. We are already seeing spikes in hospitalization. Two hairdressers in Missouri alone exposed at least 170 people by working while showing symptoms. God only knows how many asymptomatic tattoos, hair, nails, restaurant workers have infected people over the last few weeks. Add to that the utter lack of social distancing over this past three day weekend, we will have a HUGE surge over the next 2-4 weeks.

Have no fear, when all is said and done America will be "winning" the per capita count because, as dumb as your two leaders are, we "win" in the imbecile department with the Trump clan of moronic grifters.
