The 2 hr. delay in the Floyd press conference.

The first thing the U.S. attorney in charge of the Floyd investigation did was apologise for the 2 hr. delay in convening the press conference. She said the reason for the delay was that they thought they had a "development" that would be disclosed but as it turns out, they did not.

What could this "development" have possibly been except an announcement of an arrest?

Then she proceeded to tell us that no less than Trump and Bill Barr are involved, overseeing the investigation.

Is it possible that Trump and Barr nixed a proposed arrest?

especially this quote from Michael Freeman:

“I will say this, that the video is graphic, & horrific & terrible and no person should do that. But my job in the end is to prove that he violated a criminal statute, and there is other evidence that DOES NOT SUPPORT A CRIMINAL CHARGE.” Michael Freeman, Hennepin County Attorney

WTF!!!

Former NY detective was on MSNBC and he said he thought they were involved to slow down and thwart investigation. I predict Minneapolis is gonna burn. Every legitimate legal mind says there is clearly enough for arrest. Turns out the cop conviction Prosecuting attorney was crowing about was a black cop. I don't see how they keep a lid on this powderkeg.

9. Keep in mind that the feds can't charge murder. They are investigating

only whether there was a federal civil rights violation within their jurisdiction. It's up to the county attorney to decide whether to charge the cop(s) with state law crimes, e.g. murder or manslaughter. However, with the feds involved Freeman's charges might have to take a back seat at least temporarily. Also, all the cops have lawyered up and are pleading the 5th, which is a problem for the prosecutors because both the federal and state laws require proof of specific intent, and the cops won't say what that was. The video shows what happened, but the prosecutors will have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt why as well.

10. And that prosecutor better decide to convict, or things are going to get really ugly.

I can't believe we have to wait for the Barr/Trump show first.

The state prosecutors were part of the press conference as well.

I tell you what. Let's make a rule from now on to never charge a black defendant with a crime unless you can already prove beyond a reasonable doubt proof of the crime before the arrest.

There are simply no excuses for lack of an arrest in this case except that a white cop killed a black man.

I represented criminal defendants for more than 20 years in the trial courts and it was never a rule that you had to prove a case beyond all reasonable doubt before arresting someone.
