(51,129 posts)GOFFSTOWN, N.H. The Republican candidates for president have gathered at St. Anselms College for the first of two back-to-back debates that could serve as a televised confrontation of Mitt Romney, who has a large lead in the polls here.
Stay tuned here for live updates, tweets and analysis of the best moments in real time. And then come back to The Caucus and to the New York Times website for the latest coverage of the primary.

Huffington Post - 2 minutes ago http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/07/republican-debate-gop-debate-new-hampshire-primary_n_1191693.html
The following presidential hopefuls are taking part in the event: Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, U.S. Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas), Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum.
The same group of six will go head-to-head in another primary debate on Sunday morning.

Rick Santorum teed off on Mitt Romney a few hours ago in New Hampshire before the big GOP debate tonight. Romney has been running as a manager who turns things around. The former Pennsylvania Senator took exception to Romney and said the following;

https://www.facebook.com/citizensforethics
One thing he did was, while actually living in VA, he had the PA district where he had a house pay for the kids' Christian internet based home schooling. (His home in the district was a very modest home typical of the neighborhood. This was not a school district that could easily pay these costs - and even more affluent ones would have complained.)

that the moderators shut it down 20 minutes early. They didn't give the participants a chance to say goodnight and thanks for nothing. They couldn't ask a single question from a list of the top 50 concerns of average Americans. No one had the gonads to challenge Romney who obviously will be their nominee. And Romney wouldn't answer questions, instead he gave his stump speech, his vision for America.
Laura PourMeADrink
(42,770 posts)break they replayed the "high"lights. This was the singularly worst "debate" I have ever
