I'm going to hook up my old computer to transfer some more files/folders/links. It's been 2 weeks, I wonder how many right wing anti-Obama email forwards will be waiting for me in my inbox there: It's been 2 weeks and not a one on my new PC. Wonderful.
I'll report back on the number

(1,448 posts)political stuff to you, as you have a sensitive job and suspect that for security reasons your email is monitored. If your clients think you have a political agenda, you will loose your job/business. That could cause you to have come home live with him until you can find a good job.

(45,274 posts)You can't be sure, but you think you're on some kind of Homeland Security surveillance list because of some demonstrations you attended, and HSA might want to talk to any list operator who sends you voluminous hate mail.

(5,364 posts)Of those, all but 2 were conservative/religious anti-Obama emails. Lots of "You MUST see this video....." Or "this guy tells it like it is" or "Unbelievable!!!". Man, there is some crazy shit out there. The 2 exceptions were the usual "Awww, look at the beautiful pictures of....." Basically slideshows of nature scenes or modern US military air or sea power set to schmaltzy music.
I have asked him to cool it with the email forwards before but his attitude is basically, "yeah yeah yeah, Kiss my ass. If you don't like them, just delete them"
I've been thinking of the advice given. The one about the inheritance is pretty funny because while myself and my siblings both think, much less care a whit about any inheritance of any sort ( a house maybe? ) he must have a major projection or paranoia issue because he seems think we are itching to pillage whatever estate when he's gone. Crazy.
I believe I'm going to get an email addy just for him. I thought of giving him my main one but with message screening "rules"...that is mails containing certain words of my choosing get auto-deleted but I don't want to throw out the baby with the bath water, and I'll still be subject to any and all attempts to disguise emails titled "no subject" ( which he does a lot )

If there is anything else between the two of you, you may want to keep the communications open.

(5,364 posts)He's absolutely obsessed with them and it's like I have to walk on eggshells and carefully word everything to avoid the ability for him to politicize things. I try my damndest but it's very draining.
I'm just trying to basically buy time and avoid him till the elections are over and he calms down ( I hope )
