All these people are on record taking a pledge for not one RED CENT in revenue increases. They took the pledge, they yelled and screamed all over the airwaves about it. Are we now to believe that the GOP reps went into Obama privately with a balanced approach that included spending cuts and tax increases on top income earners? Or is it rather that they came up with one cockamamie scheme after the other for balancing the budget on the backs of the poor and middle class, while the wealthy preserved or extended their own tax cuts? Which is more plausible?

Of course Obama turned down their ridiculous schemes. That's what we elected him to do, Mr. Woodward: compromise where possible, hold the line in defense of the middle class where necessary. Now the GOPers and Woodward's Georgetown friends in the military industrial complex are all crying uncle because the sequestration is coming down fast, and so Woodward will represent his clients with more bullshit about how the GOP strived to compromise. Bullshit. They voted for the sequester, and then didn't give an inch, so now they can eat the sequester or deal on tax increases.

Eat the sequester or deal on tax increases. Obama's got them over a barrel on this one, and Woodward is screaming bloody murder about it. But here's an idea they can't walk away from: eat the sequester or deal on tax increases. Full motherfucking stop.

problem is, every single idea stunk. It either made the job harder to accomplish, or wouldn't have fixed the problem at all. Usually he made it worse. Then he would get ticked at us for ignoring his 'ideas'.
and surprise! he was a republican..
