This should be an arrow in the quiver for this coming week. Maybe the most important one.

1. I'm not defending Romney - because I think he will be an awful president

But . . . the skills needed to run a country are different than the skills needed to win an election. For example - no one thinks the President should be a twig in the wind, able to say whatever any group wants to hear, with no core convictions save the conviction he or she should be president. On the other hand being a successful chameleon can be a great advantage in running for President.

Romney is not a successful Chameleon - he switches his positions ok, but never looks that convincing.

2. When I showed up to a speech by Hillary Clinton in the last election,

there were at least a couple hundred people with invitations to the event who were turned away because of lack of room. After a half hour of waiting, a spokesman came out and they started yelling "how to you expect to run the country? if you can't manage a campaign?" That was a minor glitch and these were her supporters. I can only imagine the independents will be deserting Romney in droves. And make no mistake about it: he's not getting bad advice; he is just to arrogant to listen.
