Muslims (or other religious people) do not have to "accept" insults to their religion.

They have a right to criticize such insults. They have a right to peacefully assemble and protest against them. They even have a right to go to court and challenge those insults (they will likely lose). The only thing they cannot do is use extra-legal force to suppress those insults. Everything else is covered by their first amendment rights.

The first amendment does not mean one has to let any form of speech stand without criticism. One always has the right to enter a dialog and even to tell someone to fuck-off because of their opinions. If neo-nazis organize a march, it is perfectly legitimate to organize a counter-march and carry signs that read "nazis go to hell".

There seems to some confusion on the point.

They just have to accept the fact it's going to happen and not resort to violence and killing.

Everything else is fair game. Just as if they say something I think is shitty, I have every right to say it's bullshit.

Religion is not untouchable.

Not one person here that I've seen has said that those who feel insulted can't speak up.

talk about a manufactured issue.

When the topic comes to neo-nazis, for instance, I have however observed that the first reaction some people have seems to be "freedom of speech", rather than "nazis suck". I find that weird.

NAZIs suck

The reason is probably that the conversion will probably be ABOUT "freedom of speech," not that NAZI suck. That is a given.

Even the right wing doesn't want to claim them, and they're on their side of the political spectrum.

violence is not an acceptable form of criticism.

that said, write letters, make signs, take to the streets and assemble, talk talk talk... those are a whole lot more productive than blowing something or someone else up.
