Just tied a right-winger up in knots on fb!

Talking about the SCOTUS decision the right-winger says, “you are either for life, or you are not.” I ask him, “do you wear a mask out in public?” He replies, “what concern is it of yours? I’m talking about abortion.” I say, “Pregnant women are being told that transmission of COVID-19 from mother to fetus cannot be ruled out. When you go out without a mask, you are taking a risk of infecting a pregnant woman, and possibly killing her and her unborn child. Anyone claiming an anti-abortion stance and not wearing a mask is a hypocrite beyond all hypocrites.”

Him: “crickets”

I would have said, "Anyone not wearing a mask may be an unwitting abortionist." But I'm just a bit OCD about turning their own words against them, and "hypocrite" no longer seems to make much of a dent from whee I see it. I might even make it "forced abortionist," depending on the context.

Nothing makes me more angry than when they say “adoption is better.” No, it is not better. Going through 9 months of pregnancy and then giving birth isn’t exactly a walk in the park. (I should know, I’ve done it three times). Some women are not emotionally or physically able to go through with it. Some women do not have the ability to pay for medical care. But regardless of those reasons, no woman should be forced by the government to undergo pregnancy and birth. It’s none of the government’s GD business. Don’t believe in abortion, then don’t have one.

Greater than supply when it comes to adoption. So that’s not a good argument. Turning it personal is fallacious too. It’s like when they tell us we should take illegal immigrants into our homes.

The reason adoption in not a solution is the nine months, the stress, risks of childbirth and mainly that it is the woman’s body and her decision.

Usually it's like talking to a rock when you come across one of those trumper's. I block all of them on twitter and more than likely will never acknowledge them if I come across them in this forum which I assume is not possible. Is it?

Anyway, I salute you for standing up for women's rights and for pointing out logical points to health and safety. A very intelligent reply to an awful maga person and an even worse biased situation. Your patience is to be commended. You sound like a #TheResistance family member for sure.

Republicans are in favor of killing living babies and have done so.

Pro-life is a myth.

The supposed pro-lifers cared naught when the state of Texas (republican gov, republican Prez) deliberately killed living baby Sun Hudson against the mother's wishes because he was an inconvenience to the state.

It is not a matter of life to the supposed pro-lifers.

It is a matter of control.

31. 400,000 more children are uninsured since Trump took office, CNN, 10/29/19
Mon Jun 29, 2020, 06:28 PM
Jun 2020
https://us.cnn.com/2019/10/30/politics/us-children-health-insurance/index.html

So if someone comes along and yammers about all of the blastulas and zygotes being murdered, ask them why Trump and his Trumpies don't care about children dying..

By the way, the same article says the total number of Americans (including adults) losing health insurance between 2017 and 2018 was 1.9 million -- truly an American genocide in progress.

======================================

AMERICAN GENOCIDE: somewhere around 15,000 Americans died between the years 2014 and 2017 as a result of states that turned down the money available to them from the federal government through the provisions of the ACA - paper by 4 scholars published by the National Bureau of Economic Research, 7/23/19

https://www.democraticunderground.com/100212306164

=========================================

Trump and the vast vast majority of Republicans in Congress attempted American Genocide in 2017:

This Wikipedia articles covers both the AHCA (American Health Care Act) and the BCRA (Better Care Reconciliation Act)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Health_Care_Act_of_2017

H.R. 1628, American Health Care Act of 2017, Cost Estimate, CBO, 5/24/17
https://www.cbo.gov/publication/52752
would increase the number of people who are uninsured by 23 million in 2026 relative to current law.

H.R. 1628, Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017, Cost Estimate, CBO, 6/26/17
https://www.cbo.gov/publication/52849
A little bit better: leaving 22 million uninsured in 2026 relative to current law.

=========================================

And no, emergency rooms are not comprehensive health care -- they do just enough to stabilize you and then give you a fistful of prescriptions that you can't afford to fill, and a bunch of referrals to doctors and specialists that you can't afford to see if you are like most uninsured. And I'm not talking about some aberrant ones that have been in a news, wheeling someone out onto the sidewalk and leaving them there. No, no, no, I'm talking about ALL of them. ALL.

A lot of right wingers exhibit that trait. One right winger I know commented on abortion and how it should end. I responded by saying "are you ready for your taxes to go up?". He looked at me weird and asked how is that related.

I told him that there would be a huge increase of single mothers, families with not enough means to support the child, etc. It will strain the social welfare programs, so more taxes will be needed to indemnify them.

If that doesn't happen, expect to get robbed on a frequent basis, as they will need money to survive. Oh and your insurance premiums will surge. So you are still paying for it. But it gets even better, if they get caught and go to prison, you taxes will either go up to incarcerate them....or they will slash funding in other areas. Be prepared to buy new tires more often. And the child will no doubt end up in CPS. So your taxes get hit again with foster parents getting paid.

Didn't bother with the "dead women in alleys and storage units due to a botched abortion" argument. It usually sparks their moral high ground defense. But when you hit them in the wallet, suddenly, reason washes over them.
