Mitt Romney is the anti Reagan. He's not just going to lose the election . . . .
He is going to help turn Republicans into Democrats.
Reagan was able to take the frustrations of many working class guys who felt that the system had passed them by and turn them into Republicans, moving them away from their Democratic roots.
Romney is the anti Reagan who is helping to turn a lot of these same people away from the Republican Party and back toward the Democratic Party.

First take away all moral high ground.

Second ridicule somebody who was down on their luck and make them an object of ridicule.
Check
Third misstate and lie about the fact that most of our social programs are insurance programs that you pay into so that when something comes up, oh like retirement, you can benefit from the contributions you have made.
Check, Check and Check
Finally get an inspirational leader who gets people thinking about what they can do help improve the communities they live in and get the guy to volunteer.

Offer the now disheartened Republican a choice between an obscene vision of the privileged few holding out a few crumbs to those trying to build their American dream or a real path how by working together we rebuild this country, invest in its citizens, welcome those that have worked here for decades, make sure that everyone has health insurance, stop costly unnecessary military interventions. reduce the military budget and build an America worthy of the 21st century.
