A graphic on Cspan this morning and a Republican caller

This morning part of the discussion on C-Span's Washington Journal was the percentage of Americans who pay no Federal Income Tax. To support the discussion while a caller was on the line Greta, the Hostess, put up a graphic on the screen that depicted each of the states in the country with the states with the highest number of people no paying in red. It was a straight line across the south from Florida to Texas.

So while the graphic is on the screen a lady is on the air speaking and she's agreeing with Romney about what a disgrace it is that all those lazy no-accounts aren't working or paying taxes, like the people in New York. So Greta mentions the map, which is still on the screen and clearly refutes what the woman has just said, and the lady says, I don't care about that. The simple facts right there in front of her but it does not comport with what she said so it simply does not matter. Astounding. You really had to see and hear it.

When I heard it.....i knew it wasnt right .....but nobody said anything to correct her....in fairness...it was a fast moving topic and it went around the table quickly"

But..she is a romney voter.

That is what she really means. She is saying that she doesn't like BLACK PEOPLE getting "government money".

That's pretty much all that matters. "We don't want black people or hispanics getting government money".

If you ask many white people, they will say that 30% of the country is black and 17% is Latino. That's where you get 47%. Because there is no such thing, in their minds, as white people on food stamps or welfare - and if they are, they are just dirty hippies. That's who Mitt was talking about.

about redstate Republicans, many are in poverty, collecting food stamps and disability. Yet they don't believe they are receiving help, only the lazy other guy. I don't understand this...ignorance or racist?

and my wife gave her some statistics - like most on foodstamps are white, that working poor get assistance, etc. - the lady had said that in the great depression nobody got any help from the gov. and my wife mentioned the wpa, anyway, just stuff like that, and then the lady said "That may be factual, but I don't have to believe it."

Is that all young single white women who have children and live in government assisted housing have black boyfriends that lay around on the couch all day and deal drugs for money on the side while she goes to work.

I live in Virginia and every single conversation with any (R) is exactly like that. They don't care about reality, facts, learning, science or history, they only care about some false ideas they have in their minds.
