I believe Romney said things most GOP thinks

but won't say out loud because they know it would be political suicide.

Obviously, he got a good reception behind those closed doors.
Methinks that conversations like that are being had across the country daily when there are no cameras around.
Every now and then you can catch a Republican blaring those talking points as a caller on Stephanie's show, or Ed's or Thom's.

I think so, too. They agree with him but know it is wrong to do so.

They're a bunch of miserable, greedy racists. I'm so disappointed with my peers from high school who spout this stuff on facebook by the hour.

If you listen to right-wing radio, you'll hear Romney's claims repeated almost verbatem on a daily basis.

which is why there were a good number of rethugs who voted for Obama the last time.

The problem is that we are seeing and hearing the noisey fringe being trumpted in the traditional and social media, and they have taken over the party's narrative. And this is why in purple states, when there is a non off-year election, the rethugs lose.

Limbaugh says it constantly. The Republicker base believes it, even if 1/2 of them actually are IN the 47%.

being more appropriate in quiet rooms, instead of in the Public Square. Because he knows damn well that its not a position or an opinion that one can win an election with.
