Could it be that Mueller is fighting for control of his legacy?

Robert Mueller is taking a stand against Trump and Barr’s “pardons” of a Michael Flynn and Roger Stone and besides his WAPO OPED he seems eager to speak out And have a final say of the investigation that he led.
I hate that he didn’t take this stand when called before congress and played word games to indicate that Trump committed crimes but held the position that he was powerless to do anything and wouldn’t say the manic words.
Let’s give him the chance. Although late, he deserves that chance.

1. That bs crap about the sitting President can't

be indicted just got sat on its ear by the Supreme Court. Maybe he believes Twitler could be charged now?

2. His "legacy"

would have been much more solid and respected if he had taken a stand to defend the work his office did for the "Mueller Report" and what BarrBarrHut did to deface it.
Now, yet other example of "too little too late."

LEGACY?

"Nothing to see here, folks. Move on..........."

3. Mueller has had plenty of chances, but choose to write a mealy mouthed report that let

trump and his campaign off the hook, using some really contorted legal theories to do it.

Maybe he's had a chance to think about things and wants to repent, but I doubt it.

6. He was strong armed by Barr, he closed the investigation

within 3 weeks of Barr’s confirmation. Barr has purged everything that Mueller built in the FBI and handed to Comey. Now Trump is slandering Mullers name. I would love to see it if The old Bob Mueller shows up for that fight

9. If he was going to show up, he would have done so last time he testified before Congress.

Barr didn't make Mueller state almost 30 times in his report that "we found no evidence that trump or his campaign . . . . ."

He even went as far as to let trump Junior and Kush off the hook for the trump tower meeting by stating they were too stupid to possess the requisite intent to charge them with conspiring with the Russians.

That's on Mueller.

13. Yes it is on Mueller, and I know he knows that Trump

Committed purgers and multiple counts of obstruction even attempting to get Mueller fired himself. Mueller had the goods on him, Barr takes over and redacts the guilty parts from the report.
I want Bob to tell the truth. He was more than Rambo to me before the report, I give him the chance of redemption.

5. It seems interesting that he was prepared.

Possibly had an understanding with Barr. If Roger Stone goes to jail, he would leave quietly. But, Trump did what Trump does best.

If Mueller want to save his legacy, he needs to take Barr down. Trump will follow.

8. That certainly would help his "legacy".

Is his legacy more important than the country though? Come clean for the country's sake, not how he looks in the history books.

17. Except Mueller explicitly said Barr did not curtail his investigation.

Mueller could have stood up and told the truth before Congress, but he wimped out.

"i would charge the president with a felony if i could'

mueller like comey played soft with trump and both got their reputations destroyed.

Integrity is not a trait you can ever compromise. It's a trait that is written into your history.

27. Any time. Was never a fan. I've had respect for him, in the sense that he never gave me

"uber corrupt" repuke vibes. I don't think he's the worst. But it's hard to believe for me that he wouldn't see the cancer at the WH. As well as in the so called Justice Department. If so. It was his duty to "do more". As one of his top prosecutors admitted recently.

16. If not, he should.

He will be judged by posterity as a hero or a coward. It's up to him. I'm willing to give him a chance to do the right thing. If he doesn't, he will forever be seen as a weak, pathetic lackey of the Trump administration.

Real straight laced and by the book and the book only. I'm sorry but that is NOT what America needed.

22. I lean toward those lines are important. I get why, in this case, others will not.

Imho, without those lines, we end up with a Ken Starr. Mueller colored all the numbers as the instructions in the book told him to.

It was BARR who told the american public that we were looking at Barney the Dinosaur, instead of a passive aggressive criminal conspiracy.

28. A little late for that. He could have chosen to really dig in on Trump's finances, which would have

guaranteed Trump's ouster.

Now hundreds of thousands will die because he ignored the big picture.
