Republicans finally convinced Romney is a real conservative

http://www.buzzfeed.com/mckaycoppins/meet-the-real-conservative-mitt-romney

More than one pundit has already declared the videos "devastating" to Romney's candidacy, and liberals are rejoicing that the Republican has apparently revealed himself to be the right-winger they'd always claimed — and perhaps hoped — he was.

But on the right, many opinion leaders and activists are expressing relief — and even excitement — that the man they reluctantly chose to lead the conservative movement has finally revealed himself to be one of them.

So Romney just hadn't been showing them his mean-spirited side.

At sites like wral.com, lots of the RW posters were very supportive of Romney's video statements. These people have been posting the 47% meme for months now. That part of the Repub is probably more enthused now than before.

This was possibly the most stupid statement I have ever heard a Presidential candidate make. He just convinced most voters that he is really out of touch and is simply a egotistical rich fool who views himself as superior to those who lacked the same opportunities that he was born with.

I have little problem with rich people who try to help those who have a hard time overcoming poverty. If you are lucky enough to have, especially if you inherited much of your wealth, you should have an obligation to help others who lack. You don't blame them for their failure but instead try to offer them a chance to better their lives and the lives of their children.

Obviously not everyone can be rich but you can live a far better life if you have the education and the chance and are willing to put forth the effort. That's the American dream and why people from all over the world wish to live here.

... but this article makes it clear why Romney doubled down instead of trying to walk it back: "Conservatives" actually agree with him about all those freeloaders and will cheer if he and his ilk get a chance to take an axe to the social safety net.

Bush riled up the fundies for their vote, but this is so much worse. Romney is going balls out for the racist vote here. He's officially all in.
