(25,841 posts)That's a huge percentage.
The sarcastic part of my wants to point out that they're well on their way to herd immunity. The realistic part understands that herd immunity be damned, these kids are going to pass the virus along to others, especially adults, some of whom will get very sick.

"As school districts consider reopening, aging or immunocompromised teachers must balance financial, health and insurance concerns."

"The potential wave of retirements comes at a time when some schools are planning to lay off teachers and staff, as districts face potentially steep budget cuts. Due to these cuts, teachers are skeptical that their schools will have the resources to put proper safety protocols in place. Education groups have been lobbying for hundreds of billions of dollars in help. While President Donald Trump and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos have been pressuring schools to fully reopen something that many districts have already begun to reject some teachers say they feel like casualties of a larger political agenda.
People still want to work, but do people want to be on the frontlines of this pandemic? he said. Because thats what theyre asking teachers.

(23,288 posts)1. Number of infected will continue to go up and everyone knows it, even though dimwit donnie wants to hide all of the data.
2. His poll numbers will continue to go down so he will rethink it.
3. Teachers and parents will not send their kids back in droves. His own party will revolt.

(201 posts)She was asymptomatic, but had COVID-19. Her parents got COVID-19. It wasn't clear whether they got it from her. They both died. I still think about and worry about that young woman.
Is DeVos going to open orphanages for the kids who inadvertently kill their parents?
