Neal Boortz: Black cops shoot dogs because they were raised around pit bulls

This morning on his radio show, Neal Boortz was talking about a local story which involved a policeman shooting a homeowner's dog. He then went on to surmise that the cop was probably black, because he thinks that dogs are almost always shot by black cops. Did he have any statistics to back up his claim? Of course not! His rationale: blacks grow up in urban areas, where almost all dogs are pit bulls, so they are automatically inclined to be afraid of dogs.

I wish I were making this up, but I heard it myself! This is not the first time that he's made blatantly racist comments either. With his retirement looming in just a few months, I'm sure we can look forward to even more racist gems from this asshole.

He once stated, several years ago, that his bonus was based on how many calls his stations receive complaining about his comments. Therefore he tries to get folks riled up as much as possible.

He's right about one thing, the entire point of talk radio is to piss you off. You get pissed off if you agree with the host and you get even more pissed off if you disagree.

Anger is addictive and talk radio jocks figured that out long ago so they set out to piss off everyone that listens to them.

Some use it when you put a microphone in their face others when they are attending fundraisers with peers. Many who think like this either keep their mouth shut (rare) or are unable to form words to express their stupidity (common).

Cops shoot dogs all the time. I was at the vet last Monday and a guy came in with his dog shot by a cop. I was there for a cut on a paw pad so I was glad that they gave him priority.

His law office was pathetic. I would like to confront him in person and tell him that he has been doing the same thing for 40 years and hasn't grown an iota intellectually. When I called on him the office had one secretary for 4 lawyers and his office was a mess. He was a two bit crappy lawyer and he had to come back to talk radio because he couldn't hack it in the real world.

Children of multi generational urban families often have little to no experience with domestic animals and pets. That is not exactly news. However, the same thing can be said of swimming, but I do not see commentators assuming that if someone drowned at the beach they are urban blacks.

He's been laughing all the way to the bank for decades with his outrageous, cliched stereotypes of Black Americans...It's the only schtik he has--nothing more than trolling and basking in the outrage...

But in a way it's good that he's still around...It never hurts to have an occasional reminder that not much has changed in some areas for Black Americans...
