Oppressed people are secretly Super Powerful

A lot of people get off on hating minorities because they are... well, minorities. Just as school-yard bullies pick on the weakest kids, political bullies often target marginlized demographics.

But even the lowest politithug has seen John Wayne movies and has some vague sense that beating up beggars and old ladies is frowned upon.

So the target of one's paranoid contempt and hostility must be imagined as enviable and perhaps even a super villain.

The poor have plenty of money... way more than you do. The poor have much easier lives. They smoke crack all day and get laid all the time... things that you would want for yourself, of course, except you have too much character. And the poor have far more political influence than you do. They are powerful.

Jews in Germany (and Europe in general) were not very numerous, but every anti-semite could detail how Jews ran the world, secretly. Jews secretly lost WWI for Germany. Jews controlled all German finance. And Jews were all communists... communist financiers. (These paranoid rationalizations don't have to be consistent.)

The Egyptian TV host that first brought the you-tube movie to the attention of the Arab world did not do so to create outrage against America, but to create outrage within Egypt against Egyptian coptic christians. (The movie was made by Egyptian coptics operating in the US.) That particular host's scene is paranoid Egypt-centrism concerned with the influential enemies within Egypt, who are all small minorities—shiites, coptics, jews, gays, atheists. In one of his earlier anti-coptic screeds, had said that the head of the Coptic religion could "get anyone out of any jail in Egypt with one call to the Prime Minister."

See. They are very powerful... running the show, even. So don't you feel bad for them. Stay firm in your resolve.

And American Christians, a vast majority, cry and gnash their teeth about the utter lack of influence Christian culture has on American life. They think they are First Century Christians huddled in basements hoping the Romans don't hear their whispered prayers. They are so persecuted that the day may come when an average American will only hear about Jesus every eight minutes, rather than the current every four minutes. And they are so persecuted, so down-trodden, that the US government will soon institute Sharia Law. Nobody can say how an elected national legislature bound by the First Amendment will institute the religion of maybe 2% of the people as law... but that 2% is apparently incredibly powerful.

Which brings us to Mitt Romney's social set...

Mitt actually believes, as literal fact, that he would have a better chance being elected if he was Mexican. He stated it as a joke, and then said, no... seriously, it's really true. And all the rich people had a good laugh because they also know it's true. Any rich white man faces a steep uphill climb in life.

Oh, when will some hero arise to break through the alabaster ceiling? (I'm proud of that ) When will one of our own break the endless of string of American latino presidents stretching back to never?

When will it be our turn?
