An off-beat global warming chart

This is not meant seriously, just a quirky observation.

I looked at this chart and my first thought was, "warmer winters."

This polling set is highly correlative with weather. People get more exercise in the summer, less in the winter. So the mild uptrend probably is somewhat attributable to these warmer recent winters expanding the exercise season in the north.

It could also be something entirely different, or just random noise. I just thought it interesting, thinking how climate effects would eventually show up in almost any measurement.

Or... it could be an economic measure. Exercise probably correlates with gym memberships and leisure time. Higher in 2008, then smacked down and slowly recovering year by year.

Or tracking sales of the Nintendo Wii.
