Joe Biden has sought to forward a singular idea: I care.

Yes! Give us some more of that sweet sweet social democracy!

It's the only way we will get thru this pandemic and it's economic fallout. We have to get thru it all together.

Joe Biden will be facing enormous challenges immediately on being sworn in as president. The need for social justice, economic fairness, and managing the covid-19 pandemic will demand the most from Joe and all our national leadership, going back to a pre-Trump status quo simply is no longer adequate.

I am hopeful though, because I do believe Joe Biden cares. I firmly believe he has what it takes to be a transformative president.

Social democracy is a political, social and economic philosophy within socialism[1] that supports political and economic democracy.[2] As a policy regime, it is described by academics as advocating economic and social interventions to promote social justice within the framework of a liberal democratic polity and a capitalist-oriented mixed economy. The protocols and norms used to accomplish this involve a commitment to representative and participatory democracy, measures for income redistribution, regulation of the economy in the general interest and social-welfare provisions.

1. These proposals have been the center of Democratic Party platforms as long as I can remember.

Re-label it whatever you want. It is the history of the Democratic Party. From Sen Ted Kennedy fighting for health care on the Senate floor to Sen Wellstone fighting to keep toxic Nuc waste out of a poor Tx community, to both Clinton's push for Healthcare & giving proper voice & funding to the AIDS epidemic & on thru Obama/Biden admin.
Voters rights, women's rights, children's rights, workers & DACA & Health care & environmental concerns.
Those weren't made real by Socialists.
Democrats did it.

These social programs are not the same as Socialism.

Give credit where credit is due.
Thank you.

I even included a citation defining social democracy.

We Democrats have a strong core of social democracy in us all at least since FDR and the New Deal.

6. Join the Democratic Party to advance human rights, but do not suddenly claim it as your own.

I have heard enough of those who try to conflate the 2, claim the valued policies as their own to gain popularity & re-label the Democratic Party as "no different than Repubs".

Slickters, hustlers & disingenuous as f.

Socialism is not Democratic.
Never has been.

Sigh.

Once again:

Social democracy is a political, social and economic philosophy within socialism[1] that supports political and economic democracy.[2] As a policy regime, it is described by academics as advocating economic and social interventions to promote social justice within the framework of a liberal democratic polity and a capitalist-oriented mixed economy. The protocols and norms used to accomplish this involve a commitment to representative and participatory democracy, measures for income redistribution, regulation of the economy in the general interest and social-welfare provisions.

Social democracy has been a core tenet of the Democratic Party since at least FDR. I am sorry if that label bothers anyone, but it is what it is.
