When I lived in a notoriously red WI county years ago, my suburban-like city was considering bringing in low-income housing. Talking about exploding heads!

One letter to the editor i will never forget was from a male resident. He claimed he had earned his masters from UW Madison for the privilege of living in that community. Others did not belong.

Yeah, I think some white suburbanites will find its tweet appealing.

14. My city was very pro-active in mitigating the legal requirements.

One "affordable housing" is age restricted, to 50 and older. Presumably to vet out crime committed by young people. And another, huge "affordable housing" is somehow connected to a Christian school. Back when it was just an open field, the billboard promoting the development was three white, blonde children. I wish to this day that I had stopped to take a picture.

Whenever an African American or woman or member of the LGBTQ community runs for office, there's always an accusation that the Dems are playing identity politics. That the Dems are appealing to these communities based on the identity of the person running, not their policies or politics.

But with these tweets, we can see clearly that Trump is playing identity politics and no one is calling him out on it. He's appealing to White fears and prejudicies. He's basically saying, "I am your White knight protecting your White community".

Where I'm stuck in my house, unable to travel, watching my young neighbors, who unlike me, aren't retired, talking about losing their home if they don't get more help?

You mean the dream where my wife and I freak the fuck out if we cough or sniffle because we had to grocery shop with a bunch of maskless dipshits? The one where we're doing daily temperature checks?

Is it the dream where I haven't been able to see my kids for going on 6 months, and was unable to attend my mom's 90th Birthday?

Is it the Suburban Dream where the couple of small rental properties we own, that we bought to help supplement my retirement after 28.5 years of service in the Navy, are generating no income for us?

Is it that wonderful dream where I'm forced to either eat the loss on the rentals, or evict and harm my tenants and their families who have been great renters and are almost like family? Don't worry, I'm going to eat it because I could never be so cold and heartless to my fellow man in the middle of a national crisis. Hell, you'd might as well ask me to evict a young mother and her children while her husband was fighting fascists in Europe.

Is this the fucking Suburban Dream you're talking about you worthless piece of amphibian shit?

BTW-my neighbors across the street are the most fantastic people you'd ever want to meet. They are Hispanic. During my 8 month deployment to the Middle East, this family was so great to my family. They looked after my family while I was gone as if they were their own. The husband repaired my wife's car free of charge. His wife welcomed my two girls to play with her grandkids who were about the same age. This was shortly after the Navy had moved us across the country and my kids knew no one in our new neighborhood.

My neighbor had a concrete patio put in. Instead of throwing away his sod, he hauled it across the street and helped my wife put it down in our backyard.

And... his wife makes the absolutely BEST enchiladas I've ever had.

So, thanks Dipshit, but I'd rather live one day next to my neighbors, than a thousand years next to your fucked up family.

You're not promising a Suburban Dream... you're creating a never-ending nightmare.

Racist real estate policies. That's always what he's going to come back to. It's in his blood. White flight, redlining, exclusion, NIMBY, gentrification, "urban renewal." Make white people irrationally scared, beat the "declining property values" drum all day long, cut off services to areas deemed "blighted" to make them look worse than they are to scare white middle class people even more = PROFIT.
