(11,780 posts)I was just thinking last night, what if she died? How long would the rethugs wait to try to get their fix in? Would they even wait for the funeral? If the senate wasnt in session how quick till Moscow Mitch would call an emergency session? No lame duck reasons would suddenly matter.

(31,261 posts)She legend is secure, she is one of the greatest to serve on the Court.
Republicans would relish replacing her. Just like they relished replacing the great Thurgood Marshall with Clarence Thomas.

(31,261 posts)When that happens, she need to retire effective immediately. She already will go down as one of the greatest Supreme Court Justices in history, there is nothing more for her to prove, IMO.
Joe is going to have a rough first two years undoing the damage that Trump has done. Senate Democrats will have to do some very tough votes to support Joes work. We cant risk a McConnell clone taking over Senate leadership and sitting on a Democratic Presidents Court nominee. Justice Ginsberg need to retire while Democrats control the replacement process.
