Calling for an election delay could have been a win for Trump and the Republicans

Trump knew it wouldn't fly. It was just Kabuki. He gets to scare people about going to the polls, show how desperately concerned he is for our wellbeing, and let Republicans "stand up to him."

Anyone who knew the suggestion to delay the election was appalling and a threat to the country was already going to vote against Trump anyway. He's already appalled us in that way many times.

At least I think Trump might have thought it was a win. I hope we're onto him at this point.

Do ANY of us know someone that voted for Hillary that has since said “You know, that Trump has sure changed my mind. He’s a heck of a guy... gonna vote for ‘im this time!”

Do any of us NOT know someone that voted for trump that has since said “Well...fuuuuuuck”?

I watch several of those Republican Voters Against Trump videos every day. Really cheers me up.

In terms of this "delaying the election thing," I'm always suspicious of Trump's motives. I always look for "what does he think he gains from what he said" more than "what did he say?"

Any day now, Trump is going to be headed towards Howard Hughes territory.
"Howard Hughes--the billionaire aviator, motion-picture producer and business tycoon--spent most of his life trying to avoid germs. Toward the end of his life, he lay naked in bed in darkened hotel rooms in what he considered a germ-free zone. He wore tissue boxes on his feet to protect them."

I don’t think so. Just based on the feeling from all the reporting I have seen, he took a big hit from every corner, and I am pretty sure that will generally translate to the public at large. IOW a high percentage over 60% really didn’t like that. That number is a swag but I feel confident with it.

We are all talking about Trump, not Biden, not Covid and not the economy. It is a smokescreen and it has worked like a charm.
